worth every cent, will purchase again

i've had unusually icy and incliment weather this winter so i'm now qualified to leave a review for this item. when i bought yaktrax they were almost thirty bucks (i think) and i'm very pleased. the rubber is very sturdy but even if that would break, i would buy another pair. they ARE that good. i'm visually impaired (legally blind) and can never tell for sure if something is icy, wet, or just dark pavement. this takes the worrying out of walking for me.
yesterday when i was crossing the street, a lady was warning me about the ice sheet on the sidewalk. she took my arm to try and prevent me from falling. before i kneww it, i was standing just fine and secure and i was having to hold her up while her feet kept sliding out from under her and i had to help her to safer ground. i still wouldn't run anywhere in them but walking is far less nerve wracking in these things.
one word of warning though. they bite nicely into ice and snow and you can walk reasonably well on a dry/clean sidewalk or street DO NOT try to walk on a smooth floor. that is wen you'd be most apt to slip. take them off right before or right after you enter a building with hard floors. carpet is okay. :)
