Yakuza Remastered Collection - Day 1 Edition - PlayStation 4
About this item
- The Yakuza Remastered Collection is far from a typical console generation port. In addition to graphical and performance upgrades (720p>1080p at 30>60fps), all three games have gone through a rigorous re-localization process.
- The English scripts for each game have been reviewed, revised, and even rewritten in some cases, and content previously cut from the Western releases of Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 have been re-added in The Yakuza Remastered Collection.
- The Yakuza Remastered Collection brings the final missing chapters in Kiryu’s story to the PlayStation 4. From Yakuza 0 to Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, players can now experience the full story of The Dragon of Dojima, all on a single platform.
- Missing content from the original Western releases has been re-added to the remastered versions, and the full English scripts have been reviewed, revised, and had portions rewritten for accuracy alongside the original Japanese releases.
- Day One Edition contains Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, & Yakuza 5 on two disks in a striking red collectible case, emblazoned with Kiryu’s trademark dragon tattoo. While supplies last.

However. The games themselves are great! I can't believe how nice they look, I was worried it was just basic up-scaling from PS3, but they did marvels with the post-processing to really get a nice look. There's not much to say about the gameplay; these are the 3rd thru 5th games so if you don't know how Yakuza plays this is not the place to start. It's like a hybrid 3D beat-em-up mixed with some action RPG elements; really story and character driven narratives. Each one is its own, but the characters are the same throughout, for the most part. I would recommend starting with Kiwamii if you are new as that's the remake of the first one.
In the end, the games are why I bought the pack; and what a value that is. Boy does it feel nice to finally have all of Yakuza across one console. Zero, Kiwamii, Kiwamii 2, 3 & 4, 5, and 6; pretty nice set Sega provided us this time and I recommend you grab them all. I do wish they'd do all the weird side stories, but those might actually be too Japanese for mainstream audiences, so I wont hold my breath. In the meantime this is a very large collection of titles [this one is 3, 4, and 5] and is definitely worth checking out; just don't start with these 3 or you'll miss so much history from the series and characters.
First off, the graphics have been upgraded to 1080p and 60fps, which really makes the vibrant streets of Tokyo and the characters' detailed expressions pop. The remastered soundtrack is also fantastic, with updated audio quality that enhances the game's already impressive sound design.
But what really sets Yakuza apart from other open-world games is its deep and complex storyline. Each of the three games in the collection follows the story of Kazuma Kiryu, a former yakuza member who gets pulled back into the dangerous underworld of Tokyo. Along the way, he must navigate complex relationships with other characters, deal with the fallout of his own actions, and take on a variety of side quests and mini-games that add even more depth to the experience.
And while the games are definitely mature in nature, with plenty of violence and adult themes, there's also a surprising amount of heart and humor to be found. The characters are all well-developed and multi-dimensional, with their own unique quirks and motivations that make them feel like real people rather than just video game NPCs.
The gameplay itself is a mix of brawler-style combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving, with each game adding its own unique mechanics and challenges. And with each game taking dozens of hours to complete, the Remastered Collection offers hundreds of hours of content for players to sink their teeth into.
Overall, if you're a fan of open-world games or just looking for a deep and engrossing storyline to lose yourself in, the Yakuza Remastered Collection - Day 1 Edition for PlayStation 4 is an excellent choice. It's a fantastic value for the amount of content included, and the remastered graphics and sound make the experience even more immersive than before. So go ahead and dive into the world of Yakuza - just watch your back!

My only let down to be honest was the packaging... I was hoping this would be a steel case like 1 and 2 were so the collection would look good together... But that's just a minor detail really. Still a great price for 3 amazing games!
