It will automatically lock the door after a preset time, e.g. 30 seconds.
Provides plenty of time, after key activation, to unlock the door. If you have a lot to carry in the house, you can activate the lock, put your phone away then use the keypad to get in.
Now for my issues:
The mobile app continually connects to the lock as you navigate to different pages in the app. This means it takes a long time to go between screens (there are only a handful of screens)! Frustrating. Just plain bad programming.
On a Samsung S7 edge, when searching for contacts to give a key to, if there are more than 3 people with the same last name returned in the list, you cannot scroll the list of names nor close the keyboard to see the rest of them. Umm, bad programming and testing.
You cannot give a key to a person who does not have an email address. When you do a contact search in the app, you will not find anyone without an email address. While I understand that, the app could tell you that fact! Again, just plain bad programming.
For others whom you want to send a key to, they must download the Yale mobile app inorder to use the key. The end user gets an email to download it and is given zero instructions on how to use the key. Below is the lame email which tells the end user nothing about what to do and why you are getting this email!!! Again, just plain bad programming.

You don’t need to send a person a "key" by having them download the app then try to figure it all out. Just set them up in your app, send the the pin code. Done.
...and my #1 complaint, I bought it to open the lock with my phone. Nope, can't be done. You can do the "twist" of the phone but that does not open the door. It is a 3 step process 1. twist the phone to activate the key, 2. Press the key pad with your palm to activate the key pad (may take several tries) 3. Press the check mark button to unlock. Same as a key 1. Get out the key, 2. insert into lock, 3. twist key to unlock. Better? you decide.
Have the "twist" open the door. I get the security aspect but let the end user decide the level of security they are comfortable with.

I was able to replace my existing deadbolt in less than 15 minutes with no tools beyond a screwdriver. It fits standard deadbolt openings without adjustment. The instructions were well written.
In addition to what I consider the critical features, the designers put a lot of thought into the little touches. There are some nice options that can be configured, including different volumes of audio feedback and an optional LED status indicator on the inside. The device is simple to install, simple to set up, and simple to use, while providing far better security than even a high-end key lock.
