      We bought this adapter to go with our Yamaha PSRE343 that we purchased for our daughter a couple of months prior. The adapter works perfectly for our model keyboard that we got and we feel much more confident buying a YAMAHA branded AC adapter (considering the no-name brand was virtually the same price).

      The cord is about 4 feet long and works good for our needs (it is actually plugged in very close to the outlet anyway). (Obviously) saves on batteries by using this and we have found that the sound quality (volume) is better when using this instead of the batteries.

      I would highly recommend purchasing this together with the particular keyboard that you get (making sure that it is compatible of course). I think it's absolutely crazy that they aren't already included with the keyboards at time of purchase. That being said, this is cord has been great, does what it needs to and doesn't cost too much.

      I bought this to replace another adapter that came with the Yamaha keyboard I bought at Costco long time ago.
      The original adapter was bulky and heavy and that's what caused the wires inside to break.
      Tried to stripped the rubber coating and soldered the wires together, but after short use, the heavy head of the adapter still ripped the wires apart.
      When it is big and heavy, when you unplug it, sometimes the kids hold the cable instead of the adapter.
      But the cable can not support the weight thus making it rip.
      This new design is actually a bit more powerful but only a fraction of the weight and size.
      It works beautifully the moment I plugged it in.
      BTW, I am using this NOT on the CP series. It actually works for the cheaper keyboards too.
      My CP33 has this identical adapter which I tested on the other cheap keyboard before I bought it.
      It's great.
      And shipping was fast.

      The guys at Guitar Center insisted that I needed to buy the "survival kit" for this keyboard which included this power adapter, a cheap (FC3) sustain pedal and some instruction material (DVD and sheet music or book or something) for $35. All I wanted was the power adapter ($9 here) and I got the higher quality (FC4) sustain pedal for $25. Guitar Center wanted like $45 for these 2 components separately.

      Why the power adapter isn't included with the keyboard is just beyond me. Apparently in some countries/areas, it is included. I'm sure most any center-positive 12V 1amp power adapter would work, but for $9, I figured I get the officially supported one. Works just fine as expected.
