From the Author
During my research, I found out Genghis had a best friend named Jamuka. For somereason, the two ended up turning on one another. No one seems to know why.
My writer brain kicked into overdrive when I realized the split betweenfriends happened right after Temujin (Genghis Khan's given name) rescued his wife, Borte, from the Merkits.
I thought, "What if it was all because of her?" And the story between these pages was born.
I titled the book Yassa because that was the name of the law Genghiscreated and the story shows him struggling with. It says: You must beloyal to those you pledge yourself to above all else. His punishment for breaking that law was death. He upheld it with an iron fist. That is,until it came time to exact the punishment on his best friend.
I had to write this story. You'll be riveted to the pages as you hear his tale in first person. It's a story like no other.
