Top Customer Reviews
I previously had a cuscus bag so much of this review stems from my 3-year experience with that.
First, the pro's, there are several:
-The shoulder strap is fantastic, wide and padded. I tend to fill up backpacks a bit too full, but still no cutting into my shoulder. It also allows for either side of the bag to be clipped to, which is a nice touch.
-Large capacity for its size. I can fit more in than i would have expected; laptop, notebooks, lots of groceries...you get the picture, I use it for everything.
-Convenient pockets of a decent size and enough of them that I don't wish there were more. (the zipper on the "phone" pouch is great, I lost a camera out of the cuscus bag because of velcro)
-Sturdy construction, I imagine it will last me a long time.
-It has a few detail features that show some design care; the clips that allow for either side strap possibilities also have a velcro strap nearby to bind them to the bag instead of letting them flop around; there is a small elastic band above the tightening strap that holds the excess strap after you tighten to fit. These features lead me to believe that whoever designed this, actually wears similar bags.
A few (very) minor cons:
-The biggest here is that the water bottle holder is not very strong. I have a small steel bottle that falls out if it is full of water and the bag is not completely upright. It would be nice if there was a cinching strap so I could tighten the hold after I put it in. (this is the main reason for it not being 5-stars)
-The bag slides around very easily once it is on. I find myself repositioning it on my back fairly regularly if I'm doing anything active (cycling, walking, reaching for things). I assume this is from the sturdiness(stiffness) of the bag. A little rubber strip on the back and maybe the strap would work wonders.
All in all a fantastic single-strap backpack. I highly recommend it.
Another good aspect of this bag is that it has five different pockets in total. There's the two "big" ones in the front along with two small ones to hold your mp3 player and pencils. Finally there's the tiny one which is on the strap. Having these multiple pockets makes it easy to organize stuff.
For those worried about how the one strap thing works, you basically just sling it over your shoulder. The strap is actually detachable so you can attach it to the other side and sling it over whatever shoulder you're most comfortable with.
The trade-off for all this is that you really can't put too many things in there. All the different pockets are pretty small. I find that the pocket located on the strap is perfect for things like your keys and maybe a chapstick-it's the easiest to access since it's in the front-but that's all it can really fit. I use this for school so I put a stapler and pencils and erasers on the two smaller pockets in the front. In the two larger bags, I put my books/notebooks and my calculator/kindle. The water bottle holder can hold a typical 500ml plastic bottle or a thin stainless steel bottle. It'll be tough to get a fatter 1L water bottle in there. It's a tight squeeze but even after all this it still manages to retain that sexy slim profile.
If you're going to use this as a gym bag, it'll work perfectly because it can hold a towel and a change of clothes with relative ease. However, if you're going to use this for school, it might be a bit hard if you want to fit more than two medium sized textbooks in there.Read more ›

I have gotten compliments over this bag at pickle ball, love all the zippered compartments, the bottle holder could be just a tad larger for a water bottle, otherwise, just love itPublished 6 days ago by renate
