Lately I have been trying to make my own food because I feel like it's healthier for my family. I've used this product as a pasta making machine, although it could be used for me as well. It was very easy to set up, and very easy to use. It is small, but I like it like that because it's easy to store. Cleanup was a breeze, and so far this has been a great product
Nice solid base and strong suction holds on to the surface.
Good quality thick plastic parts as well as blades.
Safely built ro use around toddlers.
Grinds up tp a smooth or coarse grain depending on the bit you choose.
I tried grinding/ chopping almonds. It was hard ro get rhe shafr rolling initially ...i had to put in some elbow grease and took some time ..it would have been much easier to run it in my blender . But since almonds are tough i will try another time with walnuts.
Then secondly i tried ro make some grain sausages ., this griund up more easily compared to the nuts but it still took some maneuvering and running the shaft back and forth to get it to grind initially to break the big pieces down . Once the piecea were small. It ran nice and smooth pumpinf our the ground sausage..pretty impressive.
Its built with quality materials...can be used to make small quantities .,
We are complete novices to any sort of meat grinding, but we were able to make great tasting sausage patties out of boneless pork ribs on our first attempt, (after first thoroughly cleaning the grinder, of course). We trimmed the worst of the fat and gristle off the meat and then just stuffed it in the hopper without any cubing or partial freezing. To our taste, the fine grinder is a little too fine, but that's a personal choice.
We found no difficult to clean areas, and any un-expelled meat was as easy to remove as you'd expect, considering you're grinding it up and forcing it through tiny holes in a mechanical device.
The vacuum seal is strong and holds the device securely on our smooth counter tops. Part of the smart engineering on the grinder, which is explained on the box's instructions, is that when the lever is turned to lock the device on a surface, it also locks the removable body of the grinder on to the base. You don't have to worry about it swiveling or coming loose while you merrily crank the handle.
We did not try making pasta or stuffing sausage casings, but we could see no reason why that shouldn’t work well too.
This grinder is fairly small and obviously not made for industrial use. It would definitely take a while to grind 10 pounds of meat through it, but it should be doable. If we have any problems, we’ll let you know.
It is not for large quantities but just right for 2 to 4 person's.
