I have read a couple books during my pregnancy (first timer here), and this is the only one that has truly resonated. I feel like the author knew me and my worries, and that she was speaking directly to me. She provides tools, both physical and mental, that are helping me to feel more prepared for my upcoming labor. She also acknowledges that there are times when medical intervention cannot be avoided, and she helps you to feel empowered through those thoughts as well. Examples of many different birthing experiences are included, and the writing just feels real- because it is. I read this book cover to cover in one day, and I have flagged some sections to return to as I get closer to my due date. This will be in hospital bag as a security blanket. Whether you want to deliver naturally or not, there are tools in here that would benefit everyone. I cannot recommend this enough!

I almost didn’t buy this book because of 2-3 star reviews on this but I was called to it and made the purchase. I’ve had it for 5 minutes and I’m in love already... the book goes into how labor works, affirmations for each trimester, yoga positions for each trimester and a breakdown of how birth can go. I will say I don’t love the use of the word pain, as I’m learning to switch up that word to pressure (and wave instead of contraction) to bring forth the most positive birth possible for #2, but I overall I love this book. Definitely recommend

I got this to help with my birth during COVID since all classes were shut down. It basically gives the same yoga poses over and over for each stage of labor. I found the breathing helpful but that was about it. I thought it would tell us more about which poses to do during labor to ease pain and continue with a natural birth but it more talked about how important a natural birth is without telling you how to use the poses and breath to achieve it. Was disappointed.
