After over 14 hours, I removed half of the jars that seemed to have jelled enough so that I will be able to place the 'yogurt' into a nut milk bag and drain it hopefully to get something out of it. The other jars, I had to open, and place a small amount of store bought yogurt in each jar trying to get something out of them, and I'm finally seeing some jelling going on after a few hours using that process.
This starter is horrible! Absolutely horrible!
The taste is delicious if you don't like really tart yogurt. I have never had it fail. I do add to my batches fairly often even though it will make yogurt from 2 tablespoons from the last batch. I tend to eat it all because I love it so much. It is by far the best tasting of all that I have tried, but that is just my favorite taste for yogurt, on the sweeter side. The process I do is the basic - heat milk to 185, let it cool to 110, add yogurt or this starter, put in the incubator 6 hours, then into the strainer overnight in the refrigerator and I have perfect Greek yogurt the next day. Every time!
