This is a good outlet, but it has an always on LED that drains the battery.

These would be perfect if they didn't have always on lights inside the socket (they drained the battery that I connected them to). I had these connected to a battery on my workbench to power an air inflator for bicycles and when I needed to inflate a bicycle tire (after having it connected for a couple weeks) the battery was depleted so much that it would not even inflate a bicycle tire. This is a very large deep cycle battery for a large camper I am using also.

Seem like solid units. connection seems quite secure. did not rate the waterproof feature as mine are installed in a van and supposed to stay dry. only drawback INMOP is the pretty light inside the unit. looks cool as heck but an unnessicary draw when living off grid. it does look super cool though lit up in my hand made cherry outlets and I seem to have plenty of power so far.

Easy to install if you're mechanically inclined. The outer barrel is a slightly larger diameter than the factory one but easily fixed by using a Dremel on the opening. Much better construction than the factory installed socket and actually fits my GPS accessory better. 2007 Dodge Ram

I bought these and added a couple outlets around my boat, and replaced a few of the old ones that didn't work. My only suggestion is to maybe give a few options for mounting from the back? For 2 of them, I had no room to screw on the rings provided, so I had to get out a Dremel Tool and make room, and even then gaining the access to screw them down was tricky... I'm picturing a sleeve with barbs or something that you could push into a hole with some 4200 or something, and then snap the outlet in, or something like that...

Does it work? Yes. Did it break within the first week? Absolutely. Installed it and less then a week later went to use it the cigarette lighter adapter pushed through. I couldn’t figure out the problem. The cigarette lighter adapter broke and popped out the back. I wouldn’t recommend this product. Also none of my adapters will stay connected in the port. Any vibration and they loose power. Normal cigarette lighter ports have prongs in them to hold the adapter in. These do not. Maybe I just got bad ones but I don’t know.

Around Oct ,Nov 2019 I purchased an emergency light for the top of my truck for when i plow snow or tow a trailer draws min amps all led's .
So i have used the warning light in both out lets and one melted the plug in wire tabs right off it .
NOT IMPRESSED !

I have unlit cigar lighter sockets at each bunk in our camper right now and it is difficult to find the "hole" so to speak.
The 'night lighting' in our camper is the blue screen light from the built in radio at the dinette. So when I ran across these sockets that are lit internally when the waterproof cap is popped open it was a "No brainer". A rocker switch at each bunk turns the power on or off to a voltmeter, this socket and a dual-port USB-2 5V x 2.4A receptacle all of which are lit with blue LEDs. The blue light is very relaxing and doesn't interfere with sleeping. I finally got an "Atta Boy" from my wife.
