Update 2013: Downgraded to 4 stars since I tend to use the Cheaplights NPT-04 trigger/receiver combo more often on my speedlights due to the negatives mentioned below: lack of a "shoe lock/tightener" as the trigger will slide off my camera and the receiver is a bit awkwardly long. I do like using the RF-602 for studio strobes too.

I've learned and read a lot about this Yongnuo RF-602 system so I'll just post it all here instead of commenting on comments to clarify for everyone. Taking everything into consideration and context I think these are definitely a (edit) 4+ star value!

First note these transmitters are not "TTL" - they do not send metering information to adjust the output power of your flash, they only send the "sync/fire" signal so you need to have the flashes set to manual power output and adjust manually.

Positives/Why this is Great:

Consider that the "industry standard" in this arena, the Pocket Wizard PLUS II Transceiver 2-pack, does the exact same thing but costs 10x as much! For E/i-TTL flash synchronization, you need to:
1) buy all name-brand latest digital Canon/Nikon flashes ($400+ each), whereas a manual Yongnuo Flash Speedlite Yn-460ii for Nikon Canon Pentax is only $40 (10x cheaper)
2) spend even more on the

These are great for any hobbyist wanted to do some off-camera lighting. I love how small the transmitter is, I keep one in my pack with a speedlight all the time now. My only complaint is the placement of the on/off switch for the receiver (and the lack of on/off switch for the transmitter). I can barely get to the switch on the 430ex and I have to use a paper clip or something on the 580ex. Works fine with my Yongnuo flashes.

It would be really nice to be able to control power output (in manual) from my camera, but I know that's not what these were designed for. Simple triggers, and they do it well. I've probably shot a couple thousand pics so far and maybe had one or two that had a bit of curtain show at my max sync speed. No big deal for a hobbyist. There have been times when a flash doesn't fire, but usually only if I'm firing off a ton or if they've been sitting for awhile - so I can't say if it's the trigger or just the recycle time and sleep time of my flashes. They wake up my flashes, which I love. If it's been awhile since I've fired I just do a pre-fire to wake them up and follow again with my shot; no problems.

These things are great for the price, no debate on that.

I can't recommend this product more! It works great but not flawlessly. sometimes I have to take the piece on and off my camera once or twice before it fires the flash. Haven't used it as an off camera trigger because I have a canon one that works great. I recently hooked up a canon flash to the hotshoe one and it worked perfectly along side my YN 560III flashes. They're a great cheap option if you can't afford the pocket wizard. Although, I do enjoy that they work off of a different, less common, radio freq than the pocket wizard and my flashed don't randomly go off because something else around, like a phone, has the same freq. I really like them.

Bought this twice and both times it did not work!!!
I set up everything and took some test photos, worked when I tested it. Next day I turn on my camera and tried to use the flash then the flash doesnt go off anymore. Somehow it stopped syncing with the flash light. I though I got defective so ordered another one and same thing. Worked for one day and next day it doesnt work.

Very good product. These triggers work very well with flashes as well as studio mono lights. I love the range and the sync speed is right on point. As one of the other reviewers stated the only con is that transmitter just slides on and there is no locking mechanism to keep it from sliding off, However it has not been a problem for me and I have used these triggers in several situation including outdoor. The seem to be very well built and I love the fact that they have on and off switches unlike the Cowboy Studio Triggers I picked up in the beginning. So definitely if you are in the market for for buying a great pair of remote triggers on a budget these are a must have as they work perfectly and can be used as a remote shutter trigger as well with the proper cable attachment. There I said it.

These work flawlessly with my Pentax k5/k20d cameras and af540fgz flashes. I use two flashes for wedding and field work and could never rely on the built in wireless capability of the Pentax system outdoors. This is due to the fact that it is an optical light(exposure calculation uses communication flashes) slave system that is affected by ambient light. I have another wireless system that only works with studio flashes due to these pre-flash communications of the Pentax eTTL wireless remote system. With the old wireless system the hot shoe flashes gave black pictures due to the exposure communication pre-flashes happening before the shutter fires.
The Yougnuo 2.4ghz units work flawlessly on both my Pentax flashes(manual mode) and my AlienBees B1600 and JTL studio strobes. I bought the extra receiver so i could control 2 hot shoe or studio strobes.

A significant feature is the low profile hot shoe mounting(~1 inch) that provides more stability for light stand mounting(1/4 screw thread),desktop hot shoe stands, or mounting in my soft box adapter rings. Some of the other units I looked at had 2 or 3 inches of vertical height that made for a very unstable platform and didn't fit my soft box adapters.

Another perk is the included camera remote connection cable that lets me use the transmitter/receiver units to wake-up, pre-focus, and fire the shutter on my Pentax K5 and K20D backup camera(same as Canon Rebel series(2.5mm mini-phone plug) but not 7D). I already had a wireless shutter remote but this enables less gear to carry in my kit. They have a really solid build quality also.

I also love the use of cheaper AAA batteries in the receivers and firm on/off switches. No more expensive lithium batteries that get depleted because the switch was bumped inadvertently.

These seem to be a lot of good reasons (IMHO) to buy this system. These units are a really good deal at any price but the Amazon price was very sweet!
