What he lacks in brains and skill, Yosemite Sam makes up for in attitude. He bellows, blusters and stands for old fashioned values- like foolish pride, greed and envy. In these five cartoons, he's got the biggest case of bad attitude(and big laughs) on any side of the Pecos. Captain Shanghai Sam "recruits" Bugs Bunny in Mutiny on the Bunny. In Sahara Hare, desert nomad Riff Raff Sam is again tormented by Bugs- and an unstoppable camel. In Honey's Money, Sam marries a rich widow, but gets to babysit her gigantic son instead. Then the bullet-blasting bully faces the Wild and the Woolly Hare. Finally, in Rabbit Every Monday, Bugs Bunny again lights the tiny desperado's short fuse. So, as Sam might say, don't just stand there, varmint- watch this video!

Who says you have to hate rabbits in order to enjoy this? Even if you are not a crabby person, if you like Yosemetie Sam, this is the video for you! Most of the cartoons here have Bugs bunny in them. There is one cartoon where Sam is not with bugs bunny, but he has to look after a heavywieght bratty kid. I think my Grandpa TenEyck would have loved to see this. No matter how old you are, you can still enjoy cartoons. So buy this video if you are a fan of Sam!
1. Mutiny on the Bunny (1950) 2. Sahara Hare (1955; cameo by Daffy Duck) 3. Honey's Money (1962; the only Yosemite Sam cartoon not to feature Bugs Bunny) 4. Wild and Woolly Hare (1959) 5. Rabbit Every Monday (1951)
He's a great character, just the kind that Bugs works best with. I could go on about "modern American classics," but let's be real. These are cartoons. They're for fun. They ARE fun. That's all. Yosemite Sam is only one of many outstanding characters from WB, Mel Blanc, and the rest. Maybe he won't be the centerpiece of your library, but should be there anyway. When I'm having a no-brain day, he's good company.
