I found this five pack and picked one up. I used one, as shown in the photos, and am using another one in a similar project.
For the size of objects I'm 3D printing, these enclosures are a good size. Just big enough to house some AAA batteries and the terminals of a switch, without being too tight of a fit. (although I do as much of my solder work outside of the enclosure and objects as possible).
The only gripe I have with these is this plastic is lousy to machine by hand. I tried cutting it with a Dremel and the mess it caused after just a few seconds wasn't worth it. I could've loaded the enclosure into the old man's mill, but I needed a rectangular opening with fairly tight corners.
I wound up using an unused chisel style soldering iron tip and melting a rectangular opening for the rocker switch. Even with my home-built filter station running (two fans, one blows fumes away the other has a carbon filter which catches the fumes), it was stinky work, but turned out ok as you can see.
So aside from that, I'm pleased with these enclosures and would buy them again if future projects call for something like these.
The insides are ABOUT 3 3/4 X 2 3/16 X 5/16.
Or 5.5cm X 9.5cm X 2.5cm.
If you needed to, you could glue 2 together. One side for batteries and the other for your project. That's what I did.
Not shown, or not noticed when ordering, are 4 small standoffs for securing a board to the bottom with screws.
My Arduino Pro Micro couldn't use them so I used a hot glue gun to hold it, and the antenna, in place. Again - it worked perfectly.
If you can find anything this size for this price, you have amazing luck. Me? I'm very happy.
BTW - The cover snaps on nice and tight. If you drop it off a building it would probably pop open, but for normal use it says in place.
Easily and cleanly drilled, hot-glue works fine for holding components in as well.
