Most of us who have lived in several countries often ask ourselves: Where is home? My expat friends and I have discussed this very question and still do. Jutta Heitland expertly touches on the different types of emotions that make a place feel like a home. She tries to answer this by posing different questions to her friends. As a psychologist she has the tools to do this. In the book description, she says that 'The book is intended to stimulate discussion, questioning and ongoing self-reflection' and this is exactly what it does. Although I still don't have the answer to the question 'Where is home?' this book has given me the tools to explore the answer. If you are a nomad like me or have questioned where home really is, I highly recommend this book.

Jutta Heitland gives voice to the questions most of us have in our lives. I've traveled the world, have lived in many states in one country (U.S.), but never moved from one country to another permanently. I can relate nonetheless with Jutta's search to find her place in this world. By reading this book, I think you will be able to find as Jutta did: "... this place fits me like a glove." If you feel like a "stranger in a strange land", you will know where your true home lies after you turn the final page. I highly recommend it!

In this beautifully written book, Heitland tells her story of her life's journey and ponders on some of the questions, feelings, and situations of life. Every one has experienced these things in some form or another and that's what makes us who we are. I don't normally read very many nonfiction books, but this book could speak to anyone because it touches on what life throws at us.

I really enjoyed this book. The author begins by describing her own experiences and knowledge about life, hopes, dreams, love, death and moving to a new homeland, New Zealand. The author then interviews several people on these subjects and what "home" means to them. It was a joy to read and I found it very thought provoking and insightful.
