As a teacher, there's nothing more important than the welfare of your students (past and present). Giving them the tools they need to become amazing little humans is not only a wonderful gift, but a priceless one. This book is essentially a tool box for building good people, starting with the most impressionable demographic.
Although the book is written for teenagers, the concepts and "SuperPowers" can be modified to teach and empower any age. I teach Kindergarten, and while reading this book, my head was flooding with little ideas to incorporate Tom's SuperHero theme in with my lessons. On the other hand, I believe that many adults would benefit from reading through this as well. We find that life and our priorities sometimes can get in the way of being the best people we can be, and this book has been a refreshing reminder that you can be, or start being a SuperHero at any stage of life.
In the world of invisible bullying, this book is a visible force for good! A must read for kids, especially those going into high school. Don't wait until your child is dealing with the wounds of being bullied, they don't heal over night. This book gives them the tools to navigate the world of " mean kids" and to make sure they don't inadvertently become one.
Teens are ready to learn that they can affect change and this book tells them how. There is nothing more empowering than realizing that each and everyone of us can make a difference not only in our own lives but in the lives of others. I say this book is for teens+.
