Grace Montgomery needs to stop her brother from making a life-altering mistake. Almost getting arrested by a hot air marshal? Not part of the plan. Neither was puking on him. (Don’t ask) Finding out his sister is her brother’s fiancé? Also a setback. Then there’s her very inconvenient attraction to the guy to consider...
The last thing Nick O’Connor wanted was a new romance. But all it took was one ill-fated road trip, a ton of witty banter, and a ridiculous amount of chemistry to change his mind. Now all he has to do is convince Grace to keep him around long-term...
Soon, Grace and Nick realize they could be on the road to happily ever after. But only if they can deal with a meddling ex, a slew of dysfunctional family members, and a poisoned pumpkin bisque (long story) first.
It’s gonna be a long, complicated week…
You Complicate Me, a light, hilarious, contemporary romantic comedy, is book 1 in the You Complicate Me series, but it can be read as a standalone. These series is not intended for anyone who doesn't like characters who cuss, snarky banter, tons of nerdy pop culture references, and snort laughs. For the rest of you, happy reading!

About the author

The normal:
Isabel Jordan writes because it's the only profession that allows her to express her natural sarcasm and not be fired. She is a paranormal and contemporary romance author. Isabel lives in the U.S. with her husband, her son, a neurotic Shepherd mix, and a ginormous Great Dane mix named Jerkface. (Don't feel bad for Jerkface. He really is a jerk.)
The weird:
Now that the normal stuff is out of the way, here's some weird-but-true facts that would never come up in polite conversation. Isabel Jordan:
1. Is terrified of butterflies (don't judge...it's a real phobia called lepidopterophobia)
2. Is a lover of all things ironic (hence the butterfly on the original cover of Semi-Charmed)
3. Is obsessed with Supernatural, Game of Thrones, and Dog Whisperer.
4. Hates coffee. Drinks a Diet Mountain Dew every morning.
5. Will argue to the death that Pretty in Pink ended all wrong. (Seriously, she ends up with the guy who was embarrassed to be seen with her and not the nice guy who loved her all along? That would never fly in the world of romance novels.)
6. Would eat Mexican food every day, if given the choice.
7. Reads two books a week in varied genres.
8. Refers to her Kindle as "the precious".
9. Thinks puppy breath is one of the best smells in the world.
10. Is a social media idgit. (Her husband had to explain to her what the point of Twitter was. She's still a little fuzzy on what Instagram and Pinterest do.)
11. Kicks ass at Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.
12. Stole her tagline idea from her son. Her tagline idea was, "Never wrong, not quite right." She liked her son's idea better.
13. Breaks one vacuum cleaner a year because she ignores standard maintenance procedures (Really, you're supposed to empty the canister every time you vacuum? Does that seem excessive to anyone else?)
14. Is still mad at the WB network for cancelling Angel in 2004.
15. Can't find her way from her bed to her bathroom without her glasses, but refused eye surgery, even when someone else offered to pay. (They lost her at "eye flap". Seriously, look it up. Scary stuff.)

Once Grace sobered up she figured that yes, she humiliated herself, but now she was going to show Nick that she was a serious adult and not at all like the first impression she gave him of herself. Only things did not work out so well for her because it seemed as if the humiliating moments just kept coming. Nick for his part like seeing this side of Grace, she was nothing like what he had pictured her to be when he first met her. He liked what he saw of Grace but knew that the last thing he wanted was to even consider having a “thing” with his soon to be sister-in-law (yes, I know that sounds yucky BUT you have to read the story to see that it was handled very well).
Grace felt that Nick was all sorts of fifty shades of sexy but she was not interested in a relationship at all, despite how sexy he was, as she had just come out of a divorce. Both of them armed with their reasons for not following the desire of their hearts and loins were taken for a loop when they finally reached the wedding destination, as Grace’s past showed up in the form of her ex. Something about seeing Grace’s ex set off an alpha male “mine” instinct in Nick and all bets about not pursuing what was building between them was called right off. With a passion burning between them, a wedding that they both agreed should not be happening, and family members that put the “dys” in dysfunctional, Grace and Nick will find that “complicated” may be exactly what they need.
I am such a fan of author Isabel Jordan’s writing! The scenes between the characters of Nick and Grace are wonderfully written. They are comedic but not to outlandish that it seems unrealistic. The chemistry between the characters is easily felt and Nick’s character really brings the swoon. He is an alpha male character but at the same time he almost has this boyish charm working for him. There are scenes in this book that bring on the heart palpitations as well. I also want to mention that the supporting characters are nicely fleshed out and memorable as well. I am hoping that as the series continues that they will play a part in those stories because I just can’t get enough. One thing that I wish the story would have incorporated would have been an epilogue. I want to see where things ended up but really it was just that I wanted the story to continue because it was just AH-MAZING! Give me more!! I highly recommend You Complicate Me to readers everywhere!
