Why this album got little to no FM radio play in 1976 is beyond me. Lets just blame it on punk.

Suffice it to say that this album belongs to the fraternity which is made up of Babylon, Happy the Man, Ethos, Cathedral, England, Yezda Urfa, Flash, and one or two other prog acts that should have hit it big...but didn't.

But if you are into those bands and have yet to discover Mirthrandir...jump on board now! The band is amazing. Gentle Giant is a good starting reference point (minus the medieval overtones). The compositions are outstanding. The vocalist is above par for most prog bands which is a big plus.

The only thing keeping me from giving this a 5 star is that imho the melodies are not memorable enough to warrant being a classic.

But if you are a serious progger, this album needs to be in your collection.

Turn it up loud and enjoy!
