This is a relentlessly aggressive album that is power violence at its finest

If you like fast, angry and heavy music, this is probably for you. I'm used to more death metal/hardcore acts, so the short songs and extreme speed was a change in pace for me, but very welcome

-Playing into the power violence genre, with some songs clocking in even under the one minute mark, each song still manages to be a complete package with variety in each track
-The songs are mixed excellently, playing strongly into low ends, with angry and crushing guitars that assault the entire way through with a few really filthy solos and some hardcore breakdowns. Brutal drums that hit extremely hard with catchy fills and blasts. And of course the lyrics, angry lyrics filled with rebelion, matched with even angrier vocals, the best of all their albums in my opinion, delivered in catchy paterns that have me playing songs on repeat

This is a very mosh friendly album that I can't get enough of, my favorite of all their albums, with this being their catchiest and most memorable album

You Will Never Hear Something So Brutal

After releasing two of the most heaviest albums I've heard in years Nails releases probably their best album by far. This album immediately kicks off with the title track and its wall of guitars, pounding drums, and roaring vocals. Every other song on this album follows the same approach. The lyrics are all strict heavy metal brutality. You can tell these guys really love what they do. The only thing I can say that people may not be into is that the songs are pretty short causing the album to be a little over 21 minutes long. Which actually makes this album their longest to date. Personally, I was fine with that as the sound is so loud and heavy on this record the songs don't overstay their welcome to me. The only song I didn't like was the final track which is the longest song in the band's career being over 8 minutes long. I think it honestly drags on a little bit more than it should. Other than that, I thought everything else was great and totally recommend this to anyone that is a fan of heavy music.

I was somewhat interested in Nails' prior efforts, but it just verged on too much noise for my liking. Grind isn't usually my favorite style, so I don't own a lot. On this release, Nails found a sound and style that is just utterly CRUSHING. It is a great mix of speed and breakdowns with memorable songs and lyrics. The production is just perfect. I just wish this bad boy was longer.

The title track is one of those "all-time" songs that gives me the chills every time I hear it.

Nails - New CD Release,,, check, Kurt Ballou produced,,, check, from Southern Lord,,, what you mean no??? Ok so 2 out of 3 isn't a bad start, it seems Nuclear Blast have realised what the rest of us have known since 2007 (that Nails are something else) and snapped them of the SL label, and from the fall out we have "You Will Never Be One Of Us" which is a superb title, a couple years back I reviewed Abandon All Life, it is a musical juggernaut of fury and this I am happy to say is a prefect follow up, to describe this album as heavy is a real understatement, it doesn't even begin to scratch through the levels of heaviness that this punches into your ears, the 10 tracks all deliver devastatingly explosive chunks of extreme metal and yet there is a certain maturity to the album compared to Abandon All Life, the break neck speed is still there but there is some groove laden on top, some solos thrown in for the hell of it and a dollop of sludge just to show that Nails can do whatever the Fxxk they want, I watched an interview with Todd Jones and he said "I want to make aggressive music the way I would like to listen to it, no fat, no frills, just angry as hell" Suffice to say he and the rest of Nails achieve this goal.
Nails and indeed most extreme/grind bands aren't for everybodys liking and its clearly not aimed at making any Chart entrances but I believe this brand of metal strikes at the primeval instincts in our minds, its untamed, ferocious and so aggressive and at 21 minutes its timed to perfection, any longer and it would outstay its welcome, in short this a pinnacle of extreme Metal...................................
