Just imagine my utter surprise as I was on Amazon one evening and happened to see a listing for this book. Finally, I said to myself, theres a genuine book devoted to the history and overall production of this amazing television series! I love it. It meticulously details all the five seasons and analyzes each and every single episode! From the 1977 tv pilot to the very last episode, plus anecdotes from cast and crew members (some heartwarming) about their individual experiences working on the Hulk, every one from Lou Ferrigno and the show's producer Kenneth Johnson to Dick Durock (who memorably portrayed the evil Hulk in the excellent two part episode The First) and the stunt men who doubled for Ferrigno. The book starts off discussing the Hulk's comic book origins, details how Universal talked Johnson into doing the series but how he only agreed to do it if he could loosely base the premise off of Victor Hugo's Les Miserables (the righteous fugitive on the run), then run downs all 82 original episodes. Toward the end of the book, we're even treated to the rundown of the proposed She Hulk tv movie that never came to be seen; too bad, it might've been cool. Yet One thing that truly grabbed me while reading this was all the beautiful and even sad stories related to the late Bill Bixby, who as the show's leading man, helped to make sure what we saw every week was the best in dramatic television storytelling and he never settled for less! I wish most of today's tv actors had his discipline and dedication to perfection! Anyone who is a devoted Incredible Hulk fanatic like me owes it to themselves to grab this book!
