You'd Better Put Some Ice On That: How I Survived Being Raped by Bill Clinton Hardcover – January 3, 2018

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 479 ratings

In 1999, Juanita Broaddrick burst into the public consciousness when she accused President Bill Clinton on national television of raping her in 1978 as he ran for governor in Arkansas. It was a TV appearance she dreaded and never wanted, but felt compelled to squash the rumors: it was rape. Now, with award-winning former investigative journalist Nick Lulli, she tells her story of survival; from the assault at the hands of the future president, to the veiled threats by a seemingly complicit presidential wannabe Hillary Rodham Clinton; Broaddrick believes now is the time to set the record straight and ensure victims everywhere are believed.

I have great admiration and respect for Juanita Broaddrick, who had the courage to tell a completely honest account of her life, including the abuse by her mother and an affair while she was married. I do not doubt for one minute that Bill Clinton brutally raped her and Hillary Clinton threatened her. Bill Clinton is a very sick sexual predator, and it saddens me that this sick and corrupt man became our President of the United States. Bill and Hillary Clinton are two of the most corrupt people in US political history, and it is astonishing to think how Hillary Clinton almost became our President. She thought she was entitled to the position. They should both be rotting in jail for their many crimes. I credit the courage of Juanita Broddrick for speaking out publicly against Bill and Hillary Clinton on that fateful day before Trump’s debate - Juanita’s actions were truly historical and she helped to turn the tide against Hillary Clinton. I remember Juanita’s words so well - explaining to the American voters that Trump had used bad WORDS about women, but Bill Clinton raped her and Hillary Clinton threatened her. Juanita blamed herself for years for the rape, because she let Clinton into her hotel room. Victims of sexual attacks often do blame themselves. I’m so glad Juanita finally came to understand that none of that was her fault. Her book gives courage to other women to take action and call out their sexual attackers, to claim their own innate power and dignity, and not live as frightened, traumatized victims. Juanita is obviously a very good and loving woman, as well as a true role model for other women because she finally CLAIMED for herself and came to understand her own innate value, strength, dignity and power. Juanita’s life has not been easy by any stretch of the imagination, but she triumphs and shows others that they can triumph, too. A great and inspiring book.

This is an amazing book. I highly recommend this book, not only because it exposes the depth of corruption and exploitation among those that hold power, but for anyone that needs courage to overcome their own victimization. I applaud Juanita for having the strength to publicly come out with the truth. It is never easy to stand up and tell your story. The fallout from telling the truth is often riddled with it's own pain. Secondary victimization comes at the hands of those that deny the truth, and refuse to hold the abusers accountable for their crimes. It is much easier to blame the victim than to confront the corrupt. The higher the level of power, the more difficult the decision. Power and money buys loyalty and covers many crimes. Some of these evil people might never see the inside of a jail cell, but there is a higher court that will dispense justice swiftly and justly. You can count on it! The Good Book says "Be sure your sins will find you out.." I look for the day when Mr. Clinton. Polanski, and Weinstein stand before the judgement seat without hiding behind the media and those that cover their crimes. Read the book.

Just finished Juanita’s life story. Loved this book and fell in love with this amazing woman. When I got to the last page I felt just like I did when I completed my first book about Queen Elizabeth I - who had great struggles and achieved what few men ever could - an undisputed reign and throne and most importantly peace. I felt exactly that, after reading about so much heartache and hardship in Juanita’s life. Now Juanita is telling her story, in her words, on her terms and has found peace and resolution from a horrific experience that went on and on and that has tormented her for years. I feel so proud of her! And most importantly I am very happy that she resolved this struggle on her own terms and closed a very painful chapter in her life. This book is very important for our history and the timing is right. A man who should’ve gone to prison became President because our society and nation allowed it. We are at a turning point in our history for this kind of behavior to no longer be swept under the rug because of the power the person/criminal appears to have. This book will become an important piece of fabric in this part of our nations history. Thank you for doing this Juanita and for all you have endured to get to this point! Even if you had decided to not publish this book, you won big by overcoming so much and accomplishing amazing things - most importantly by being a great person with a huge heart all the while struggling with something unspeakable.

This is not a book about a Bill Clinton transgression. This is an inspirational story about a humble yet stubborn, detail meticulous, can-do woman who did great things with her life in her quest to provide compassionate quality care to some of the most vulnerable in our society.

Mrs. Broaddrick came from modest and difficult family beginnings. All along the way, fate put obstacles in her path. She climbed over every one of them, stronger and more determined than before.

Mrs. Broaddrick's writing voice is an easy and informative read, but there are formatting issues that make the book incompatible with the Kindle version I downloaded. Indie writers must reference numerous guidelines to make a manuscript compatible for the various e-readers and demand book printing machines.

Highly recommend reading.

Wow! I had no idea who Juanita was when I started following her on Twitter just a short time ago. I began following her because I noticed her sense of humor, her support for President Trump, and America first philosophy. I especially love how sassy she is and her use of the F word! I totally relate to her. Then, her book came out and not only did I find out she was a nurse, like me, but it was then I found out what had happened to her. She writes about her struggles, stories of her life, and how she survived the horrific rape by Bill Clinton. From beginning to end, I just kept thinking about what an amazing woman she is.

5.0 out of 5 stars I am so blessed to have read this wonderful woman's story

What an amazing woman! Juanita's resilience, entrepreneurial ability, and strength in adversity make her to be a truly wonderful and amazing woman. I am so glad that I read her story, her life is much bigger than the story she is known for. How wonderful that she was able to have vindication through the Trump campaign. How fortunate for the US and the world that HRC did not win the 2016 election. Thanks for your bravery in sharing your story Juanita. Truly inspirational
