Here's what you want to know:
Pros: They are very comfortable and not at hot as the $5-for-a-pack-of-10 leather gloves I usually use. They're pretty grippy on a 3-inch tree limb and they're padded nicely. I also like the fit and feel of the strap around the wrist. Keeps dirt out, but it still comfortable. Lastly, they cost me about $15. Hard to complain about that.
Cons: I can't speak to their long-term durability yet. I also found the fit to be a bit off. I have long fingers, but not fat hands. These gloves seem to be made more for people with big stubby hands as the crotches of the fingers in the gloves do not quite match up with my own. Still, I've gotten used to this over the years as I didn't develop large hands yesterday in some nuclear accident.
Other: I really like the color.
Overall, I have to give these guys 4 stars assuming they don't crumble to pieces suddenly some time next week.
EDIT: I just got back from a month-long archaeology expedition and I took these gloves with me. I should say from the outset that I was looking for something cheap that I could completely ruin. From trowling in dig units to heavy shoveling to moving buckets to running soil through metal screens, I assumed my gloves would be destroyed. Not so much.
These held up at the hot and dirty dig sites as well as in the wet and muddy conditions we experienced while lake coring. I had no idea they would be THAT durable given the price. I still have to highly recommend these.
UPDATE 2016: <a href="http://s1330.photobucket.com/user/Flick_Montana/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20160414_104541_zpsznqxyjgx.jpg.html" target="_blank"></a>
I have purchased these gloves twice now. The above review still stands. Those gloves were great until I lost one. The new pair, however, is awful. They fell apart in the crotches of the thumb after a few weeks of shovel work. According to my purchase history, they are the same gloves. In the image, you can clearly see that one has more reinforcement than the other and that makes all the difference. If you can be sure you're getting the reinforced gloves, buy them. If it is the other pair, don't waste your money.
I don't know if the product has been changed or just the listing, but the two gloves are of vastly different quality.
Something to always keep in mind with YT gloves is that they run a bit small for their sizing. For me, I prefer work gloves to be very tight so I maintain as much control as possible. Loose work gloves are dangerous, especially when handling power tools or anything that's sharp or heavy. Also, I burned a whole in one of the gloves (stretchy lycra material along the fingers) picking up a cup of tea out of the fire. This was my own fault and I do not blame YT for that. Just be advised that if you need something to withstand quick bursts of heat from contact with metal, these gloves will not tolerate it.
