The premise of John Snyder's book is excellent: focus your prayers for 100 days, asking God to do over and above all you could imagine. I agree that the value gained from this discipline is splendid. I am in the midst of following Mr. Snyder's advice, with significant results.

However, I do not agree with some of the theology in his teachings. For instance, I don't think we need to storm the heavens so God will see how serious we are. God already knows our hearts; WE may need to see how serious we are, but God doesn't.

The biggest value I gained in reading this book was to stay before God for many days, seeking Him for the same request, not giving up when I didn't see the answer right away. I believe the Bible calls that perseverance, and it is a quality I needed to develop.

So,in spite of my disagreements with Mr. Snyder's theology, I have grown in my prayer life as a result of reading Your 100-Day Prayer. And for that, I highly thank him.

I was recently given the Kindle ebook version of "Your 100 Day Prayer" by John Snyder through Booksneeze.com book review bloggers program. I think this is an ideal devotional for those who are on the go. I am a busy homeschooling, work at home mom, and don't often get the time to read at length like I would like to. I liked the idea of a devotional that focuses on prayer, which is something that I should never find myself too busy for. Though, I must admit, it's not always the first thing that I think to do (which is something I want and need to work on). The devotions in the book are easy to ready, about a page each day, but is not lacking in spiritual challenge and encouragement. At the end of each devotion, there is a prayer for the day, as well as an area to write your prayers, and the answers to prayers that you've received. I think it is a great idea to be able to keep a journal of your prayers and His answers, to one day be able to look back and see just how everything was orchestrated in the perfect way, even though you may not see it now.

I would recommend this book to anyone wanting a little challenge or encouragement in their prayer life, to read along with their current Bible reading.

I haven't used many devotionals before, but I found this one to be most helpful.
The author lays our the structure of his presentation very clearly, and it makes it easy for even a novice to figure out where's he's going.

His specific use of prayer in this I instance is focused on portioning prayer. He is trying to equip the reader with concept and tools to petition God in a way that aligns with scripture.

I specifically liked the fact that he allowed a full page before each day, so that the reader can form their own prayer in their own words, not just what the author had to say.

I would have to say, overall a very good read that certainly helped improve my prayer life. I would recommend it to anyone interested in improving their prayer life.

*I received this book for free in exchange for my unbiased review through the Thomas Nelson BookSneeze Program.

I recently read the book 100 Days of Prayer by John I. Snyder. This book was a good read, there were a few days of prayer that I didn't really enjoy, but if nothing else this got me into the habit of praying everyday. This book also helped me to remember to wait on God, to sit and wait. It is written in a devotional format and is an easy read.

I do like that the prayers have Biblical backing in that they include verse references. This was a really good read and I would recommend it to any Christian trying to make their prayer life more solid and habitual.

I had the book for myself; therefore I knew this would make a great mother's day gift. A few have already started to read and share with their spouse.
