I especially like Mike’s way of comparing our self-defeating negativity to a parasitic eel—how it feeds on our vitality and leaves us incapable of achieving success. What can be more compelling than that? Moreover, Mike writes in an intensely personal, intimate way that you can’t help but sit down and read. In fact, when I read the line, “why do people stare the negative consequences of their actions in the face, yet proceed down that dark path anyway?"—I had goose bumps: nobody has put it so compellingly.
Mike’s book is short but high-impact—it distils thousands of pages of scientific research into an easy-to-read and digest discussion of what works and what does not. And most importantly, through this book, you’ll learn about Mike’s “invention”: the “AHA”. What it is and how it works, you’ll have to find out by reading the book.
And that’s only for starters.
Overall, if there’s any uplift you need this holiday season, Mike’s ‘Your Achilles Eel’ must be it—it is deeply enlightening and you can get rid of the negative things in your life right away. Order a copy of this book today and see what I mean—or much better, send this as a gift to all your friends—they will thank you immensely for it. A five-star rating for this one.
I like the author's "AHA" approach to removing your achilles eel, as it's super memorable and actionable as a technique, and easy to describe to others. The book is direct and has one goal in mind. It is presented well, with footnotes backing up the author's points, leaving the narrative clean and to the point. Very useful little volume that can change the way you see your own thought and behavior patterns. I'm planning to re-read often until I deeply integrate the very important message.
And as I read this book, it explained why I held on to these feelings, how to get rid of them and really be free to be have a happier life!
At the end of this book are links to wonderful websites.
All in all, I found this a good read.
