That's why I decided to work directly with Re's company (Branding for the People) for a rebranding. Very shortly after starting the engagement, things started to finally come into clarity and alignment for us. I realized that, just like sales a marketing, there's a science and system to branding. Not only that, Branding is the throughline for EVERYTHING in the business, from sales and marketing to culture and operations.
Reading Re's book now is putting things into even clearer perspective. It's also great to learn about the backstory behind the evolution of all of his insights.
This book is a must-read for any entrepreneur who wants to take their business to next level

-In a brand-led company, it’s not just the burden of the
sales or marketing teams to grow the business. Rather,
the entire company, from the CEO to the receptionist, is
unified and empowered around a singular Brand Purpose
and Brand Promise (two concepts we’ll get into later). In
addition, the company’s Brand Culture is now guided by
a set of Brand Values that guide every behavior and set of
actions that are “on-brand.” And, more importantly, each
and every employee lives the brand by internalizing: “How
can I deliver on the brand?” Then expressing the answer
through daily actions.
My favorite case study was Xtreme Lawn Care.
I have to admit when I saw the rebrand to Purple Care, I didn't get it at all. I understood the apprehension of the owner completely.
But when Re explained the science behind it, I was blown away.
As a result of the rebrand, Purple Care stopped losing customers to competitors for services their customers didn't know they offered.
This is the freshest book on branding you can get.
While reading though, you'll realize Re is laying everything out... his honesty, authenticity, and of course real-life strategies that will definitely help my business grow.
I love the stories he shares and how I can actually use the branding tips in my own small business. Not just for the fortune 500 companies.
And his definition of the word "Brand" helped me get more clarity then I've heard from other marketing experts.
Good stuff for sure and recommend for anyone looking to build a solid long term business.
Another quality I like about this book is that it is very balanced. It gives you both the "why" and the "how" of branding. Equal parts informative and inspirational--without leaning on too heavily on either.
As a copywriter, I keep this book on my desk and refer to it when thinking about how to bring out elements of "brand" I might be missing in the work I do. I was especially impressed with the "brand promise" section of the book that gives you the secret sauce of positioning.
Overall, this is great book for anybody looking to strengthen and expand their brand.
