I just received my copy of "Your Camera Loves You - Learn to Love it Back" today. What a fantastic resource! It's tailored to any skill level, but it's especially useful for someone like me who is a total novice at photography. I don't know how to do much beyond automatic mode, and this makes it easy to significantly improve my photo-taking skills without slogging through my Canon SLR's manual, with all of its dull, tiny, black and white print. Author Khara Plicanic writes in a fun, easy-to-understand and digest manner; she really "gets" what the average person needs out of a photography resource. Plus, the images that accompany the book show stunning "before and afters" that really bring to life why you should make an effort to use your camera beyond auto-mode. Own a digital camera? You want this book. It would also make a great gift for just about anyone!

I recommend this book to my digital photography students. It has excellent graphics and describes the function of a camera in an easy to understand way. Also, it is visually appealing, which I think helps people to read the chapters I recommend. I would totally encourage anyone to pick this up and read it if they are looking for tips on how to improve at using their camera in Manual Mode and to make photographs which are well framed and composed. It's a fun read!

A must read for anyone who is serious about taking better photos without spending hundreds on cameras and equipment. The author makes the process understandable in an engaging conversational style. Her anecdotes, illustrations, human eye analogies, and sample photos helped even a novice like myself "get it".

Received my book just before we went on vacation to the Rockies. Was able to read it on the 7 hour drive. Just in time too. Because of this book I now understand how to use my digital camera. The pictures I took in Colorado turned out amazing. I now have the confidence to display my pictures,
Thanks Khara

I've been a hobbyist photographer for almost (gulp) thirty years. While I am stil enthusiastic, I am leaning more and more towards point and shoots. I'm more interested in getting good photographs rather than being a total gearhead. This book is perfect for those who want to enjoy photography, improve their pictures and not be bored or frustrated with annoying technobabble or frustrating art pictures that you and I will never be able to approach. e.g."here I am photographing the president of the United States as he meets the Queen of England while they are both swimming nude in the Seychelles Islands..." This book is funny, helpful and presents practical information that you can actually use to enjoy photography. In short, it makes photography fun again, and thank heavens for that! Buy the book, and happy snapshooting.

I took an into to photography class 6 years ago when I was studying abroad in Italy and loved it but put the hobby on hold to pursue other things. After 6 years I am a little rusty and I am constantly struggling with getting the "perfect" shot because I simply didn't know how to work my new Cannon 60D. I am finding that this is less of a problem now that I have read this book and applied what I have learned; my photos are looking much better! I am so thankful that Khara wrote this because it has been a lifesaver for me. It was a joy to read with the clear explanations and jargon-free tone. A friend asked me to take her wedding photos next weekend and at first I was really nervous, after all the things I have learned from this book I am now excited. I have already purchased 2 additional copies for friends. THANK YOU KHARA!
