Editorial Reviews
Review
"Well done! The most fundamental theological argument is healing and wholeness is not something that is magically/miraculously provided by God's hand without our involvement, but that it is what can happen when we involve ourselves with God—through prayer, through our pursuit of faith, through connecting our stories to the biblical stories...I resonate deeply with this conviction." -- Gil Rendle, Author and Ordained Minister with the United Methodist Church
"I'm especially grateful for Bruce's approach for those of us who are always searching for accessible and honest resources and practical guidance in growing our faith. Bruce uses a wonderful variety of contemporary and biblical stories to help us understand how God can work in extraordinary was through ordinary people who are willing to work with God." -- Tom Locke, President of the Texas Methodist Foundation
"For the first time in my life, I read a book from start to finish in a single seating. I found this book easy to read and impossible to put down. A compliment! I can easily relate to the characters and the wonderful stories told throughout the book." -- Emmitt Gibson, Retired 2-star General, Army
"The chapters on Prayer and Grieving were the ones that resonated with me the most. I was glad to see just how personal our prayers can be and how much God wants us to communicate with Him. I pray that people reading the book will be encouraged to try the ways the book suggested, in order to lead them to a more intimate prayer life. The book will be therapeutic to readers!" -- Nancy Duttry, Advance Reader
"A solid and extraordinarily well written book. Theologically the book is well constructed and accurate. I appreciated the stories and connection to Gospels. A Jesus-centric book that reminds us of that Christ is the central and guiding force in our lives. Hope precedes faith, which in turn precedes trust in God. This book elegantly ties this concept together." -- Ken Mann, Senior Pastor, Baptist Church
"Dr. Hartman is a wise man with a warm heart." -- Dr. Heather Murray Elkins, Author of "Holy Stuff of Life"

Bruce Hartman integrates the teachings of Jesus using examples of people he's known throughout his life. He's frank about the challenges, and the lack of certainty. The book is a quick, pleasurable, easy to understand read, but that doesn't take away from the serious message. The concepts are broad and clear. I particularly like the part about his feelings when shoveling snow!

I found this book by Dr. Hartman to be a good choice to use along with other materials for a small group discussion on Faith in Jesus and what it means to have a faith in Jesus. The examples of other’s faith experiences give good insight to this topic however I wish Dr. Hartman had not wanted to the very end to talk about the real conundrum in faith and that is how does one cope with life’s misfortunes when one feels they have a strong faith in Jesus already and things don’t work out they way we hoped they would, ie. Loss of job, death of loved one. It was deal with fairly well at the end but one would think reading the beginning parts of the book that all one has to do is have faith and all of life’s problems will be solved. In fairness this is probably the hardest aspect of being a pastor and talking to people about faith. I recommend this book to be used as part of a class on faith and what it means to have faith in Jesus.

I especially enjoyed reading the stories of ordinary people in “Your Faith Has Made You Well” where God’s working in their lives was on the surface very subtle, yet powerful enough to change everything for them. God is all around us and Dr. Hartman’s book reminds us of this using biblical and contemporary examples of God’s healing power for His children. It helped me to see with fresh eyes how I can encourage and comfort my loved ones who are experiencing loss, grief and health issues that simply arise as we grow older and near the end of our earthly lives. Just like Bruce Hartman’s first book “Jesus & Company”, this book is a quick & easy read with “nuggets” of wisdom for all readers!

"Bruce's book was very timely for me as I finished reading it as I was recovering from a heart attack. It was easy to relate my physical healing as I read the stories of people in despair. I soon realized that your faith making you well through God's healing touch meant much more than the physical healing in our bodies. Trust, hope and peace are the basic tenets Bruce shared through his stories and biblical truths. I highly recommend this book, no matter where you are on your faith journey."

After purchasing Dr. Hartman's first book, Jesus & Co. and getting simple and useful nuggets out of it, I decided to purchase his second book Your Faith Has Made You Well. Dr. Hartman has the ability to make a story come to life, while guiding the reader to relate using his or her own experience. The 'ah-ha' moments I experienced while reading this book helped me to curb my thinking when it comes to grieving and trust. I was able to see some of my own internal and life struggles in a new light of hope instead of helplessness.

The lessons contained in "Your Faith Has Made you well" have become one of the components of the first 60 minutes of my day spent with God. Messages are easy to understand and relate to today's World. I'm looking forward to the next book.

At last a down to earth book with lessons for anyone who is seeking purpose in their lives. Dr. Hartman describes faith as a belief in the unseen. A concept so foreign in life filled with new scientific discoveries daily. Your Faith Has Made You Well is a guide to encountering the unseen and finding the real truth of life.

Dr. Hartman intertwines the relational stories of Jesus and applies them to real people today. God’s Word is still relevant today and the power of prayer is very real. Dr. Hartman brings this to life in his book.
