"Each entry includes location info, what to expect from nature, how to find the park, open seasons, notable attractions, and plenty of full color photography to back the details up. "Your Guide to the National Parks" is a must for nature and vacation collections." ─ Midwest Book Review
"This gem of a travel guide is one of the most comprehensive and well-crafted books of its genre on the market." ─ ForeWord Reviews
"Given the increased interest in national parks since Ken Burns's related PBS series and the upcoming National Park Service centennial in 2016, this is a timely and useful reference. Its bulk, and even its print size, make it a book to use at home or in the library to plan a vacation..." ─ Library Journal

Every time we took that book with us and found all the information we were looking for:
- General information about the park
- Best time to go
- Maps of the parks
- Best hikes and difficulties (pretty accurate for people in good shape)
- Other sections can be useful on a park basis.
Content is extremely well organized and to the point. We bought many copies since as gifts to friends and relatives.
Book is mostly intended for regular visitors of National Parks (spending a night or two in the park). For example there are no maps of trails nor necessary because the trails are pretty well marked.
If you don't care about the book and don't want to carry all pages with you, it is possible to pull out only the pages related to your trip.
There are also extended road trip suggestions that helps you plan to visit several parks in succession. It's quite helpful to arrive at a park with a plan. Saved us lots of time and energy. Won't visit a National Park without first reading up on it in this book and getting tips and suggestions.
