About the Author
Jiayi grew up in China and Australia prior to attending the University of Toronto where he co-founded Magna est Veritas, a pre-med club with a 90% success rate for medical school admissions. He is passionate about both medical research and networking opportunities that are targeted and longitudinal. Jiayi is a two-time graduate of the University of Toronto (HBSc in 2009, Pharmacology & Biochemistry, and MD in 2013). He is a currently a Plastic Surgery Resident at McMaster University. Manveen majored in Genes, Genetics, and Biotechnology (HBSc, 2009) and graduated with high distinction before going to medical school (MD, 2013) at the University of Toronto. He then went on to complete residency training in Family Medicine at the same institution (CCFP, 2015). He is now pursuing a Master of Public Administration degree at the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario. Sameer received his HBSc with High Distinction in Human Biology in 2009 before going on to complete his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in 2013 at the University of Toronto as the only international student in his class and one of the few in the history of the Faculty of Medicine. He is currently pursuing his Masters in Public Health at Harvard University. He was the recipient of the 2016 Top Resident Research Award by the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians and recently published his work on hypertension in emergency departments in the Annals of Emergency Medicine that was also featured in the Globe and Mail. Aly Madhavji is the author of “Your Guide to Succeed in University” the #1 College book on Amazon. Aly served as a Governor of the University of Toronto where he was a member of the Executive Committee and Academic Board of the institution. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Toronto Mississauga Alumni Association and the College of Electors.
