About the Author
Married for 38 years, Debbie and Michael Campbell have always loved to travel. They introduced their four children to international travel at a young age by moving the family from Seattle to London in 1986 where they lived for five years. As a young college student, Michael fell in love with Grand Prix Racing, which introduced him to the romance and excitement of European travel. He turned that interest into his own career as a professional racecar driver and world traveler. He went on to a rewarding career in sports marketing where he created dozens of events, including The World Indoor Paper Airplane Championships. Debbie enjoyed a successful career as a graphic designer and copywriter with her own firm, Tip Top Creative, specializing in hospitality, tourism, and events. Now, as Senior Nomads, Michael has taken on the role of Chief Travel Planner while Debbie runs the provisions and entertainment divisions. Over the past three years, they’ve traveled to over 50 countries, 150 cities, and made their home in more than 120 different Airbnbs.

And I must say, this book is a gem.
Whether you are looking at becoming an Airbnb host, or looking to travel in a whole new way, this book will give you great insights into both sides of that travel equation.
It's written in plain english, with step by step guidance for being the best host possible, and for being an informed and welcome guest.
Debbie and Michael walk you through the process of finding the perfect vacation rental using Airbnb with useful tips for selecting the "right" home away from home from the many available. Michael is very detail oriented, so you'll get lots of step by step instructions for planning your stay, short or extended. Debbie is more artsy. So you'll learn more about what to look for in choosing your "temporary" home depending on your taste and what you enjoy doing. If you are thinking of becoming an Airbnb host, the Campbells very clearly let you know what it takes to get great reviews, and great reviews bring in more rental nights.
It's a quick read, and an enjoyable read. Before I book an Airbnb rental, I'll be sure to read through the book again. If you're even thinking about this "new way" to travel, you owe it to yourself to pick up a copy of Your Keys, Our Home.
I read this book in preparation for my own book "Optimize YOUR Airbnb: The Definitive Guide to Ranking #1 in Airbnb Search".
They also ask for a live check-in. I hope they do this before making the reservation. I got the feeling that if anything goes wrong, they will be leaving a bad review. One example, when they could not find the front door and had the host get them in the rain a couple blocks away, I had to wonder if this was actually the hosts fault or their own. I wish they had posted links to the Airbnbs they stayed in. I think the hosts would appreciate that, too.
As Michael and Debbie Campbell prepared to retire their daughter encouraged them to see the countries on their dream list of places to visit.
They didn't think they could afford to do that but their daughter thought they could, using the inexpensive means of Airbnb. This book is the proof they made that happen.
So far they've visited 152 cities in 50 countries and stayed in 110 different homes. In fact, I emailed the couple and found them in Zanzibar!
This fun read tells how they selected which Airbnb's to stay in, and describes the adventures of finding the places in real life. They tell about the kind owners who took greeted them in the various countries. They give tips for being a good guest and a good host.
For those with wanderlust, this is a highly entertaining and informative book.
Dubbed "the Senior Nomads," this young-at-heart couple have spent the majority of the past few years traveling from country to country, relying entirely on Airbnb to reserve their housing in city after city. Their descriptions of the entire process are compelling for anyone flirting with their first Airbnb stay, and insights into ingredients that make lodgings successful will appeal to those renters seeking to maximize their occupancy.
Top-to-bottom, "Your Keys.." is an excellent read and just might ignite the latent travel-bug in all of us. Five stars!
The writers also included an appendix with the full list of Airbnbs they've stayed in during their 3 year journey. I'm ready to hit the road!
