The girls have led a hard life because of a woman who was there mother, but was clueless as to the personality and traits of one. She was selfish with a capital S. Gambling , weed and a trifling man were her vices.
The story gets really interesting as you see them fall in love and the issues that nearly caused them to almost lose the men who had loved them as well. Peter, Paul and Strong were brilliant young men who found love early and were determined to have these three sisters at any cost.
Lies, cheating, guns, and kidnapping show up in their stories.
However, the truth and wrongs committed long ago come to light and make each of them better people.
The pages are filled with points of laughter and many with sorrow for the circumstances revealed.
Great read Ms. Franklin, each character is well developed...Will not be my last read from this author..
Their useless mother did nothing but gamble, smoke weed and entertain her new pothead husband. Using the older two girls for their paycheck, she lived to go to the casino leaving the girls to fend for themselves.
Peaches was the oldest and she promised their father on his death bed that she would take care of her sisters. The baby girl Shy was not his child, but he loved her just as much as the others. Peaches became a surrogate mother to Shy as well as Alex, forgoing college to work so the girls could eat. Big she and Alex, who worked and went to college, were required to give most of their pay checks to their mother who claimed she needed help with bills. Everyone knew she gambled away their money, then treated the girls badly.
Forced to hide the fact that they were poor from the community for appearance sake, the girls saved what little money they could dreaming of the day they could get out of their mother's house.
Each of the girls end up falling in love with a trio of brothers. The Hart brothers were gorgeous and the sisters were said to be the most beautiful in town. They definitely had the best natural hair, jet black locks that flowed down their backs.
The story follows the love lives of the sisters as well as a few other supporting characters. I loved how the girls looked up to Peaches as a mother figure, but still saw her as a close friend and confidant.
The story was well l developed and contained many hot steamy sex scenes, not easy to do when your main characters are virgins. This was my first book by this author and I look forward to reading more from her.
