"Being married for forty-two years while serving in multiple ministry opportunities would have been much easier had Clint and Penny Bragg's new book, Your Marriage, God's Mission been available to us. The challenge of blending our lives as husband and wife while fulfilling God's call for our life together was not always easy--nor was it always clear. The Braggs' premise that every marriage has a God-ordained mission resonates with truth and serves as a blueprint for a much-needed book on the topic.
"The Braggs have organized the book to help marrieds become battle-ready as they work together to uncover God's unique plan for their lives. Christian marriage has an Enemy, and victory requires a solid strategy based on God's Word. You will find it here. The book is filled with resources, including videos of successful couples and discussion questions designed to help you and your spouse discover your spiritual destiny. Don't miss this book!” (Deb DeArmond, author of Related by Chance, Family by Choice 2017-07-10)

Clint and Penny are brutally honest about their successes and also their failures. Yet they give many tools for couples who want to renew their marriage and press on
They offer strategies based on Military missions from Clint's time serving in the Army. Anyone who had been married a while knows that sometimes it can seem like a war zone or minefield with all the drama creating and being in a family can bring.
A big resource is links to videos of couples sharing what their own marriages looked like and what they have gone through. That is worth the price of the book.
Chapter 15 was my favorite and is a chapter talking about suffering. Although that is not a favorite topic it is much needed as far as our walk in marriage when things are not "picture perfect".
"When you fully believe in the promise of His Word in the faithful God who made them, your tragedies will always carry within them His redemptive plan." (Page 177)
"Whether it's the death of a loved one, job loss, depression, disillusionment, or some other struggle you're experiencing or will experience, learning to suffer together means intentionally training your spirits to follow hard after God and leaning to see Him in the middle of life's most tragic moments." (Page 171)Those are a sample of some of the beautiful quotes in that chapter.
I'd love to do screen shots of full pages to share but instead I'll recommend that you buy the book. It's a great investment, one you will not regret!

This book contains five phases to help steer your marriage toward missions no matter your age or stage of life. Within each phase, there are chapters (or sections). Beginning with a quote, a little discussion, a prayer and taking the next step questions, all of which work well together.
In the first phase, "Induction and Mission OPS" the couple make a marriage mission statement. I believe by making the mission statement it will inspire the couple to go after what God is calling them to do. The second phase is "Basic Training". This goal is to be prepared for missions. The third phase is, "Planning and Protocols", phase four is, " Hazards and Hostiles", " and phase five is " Checkpoints and charts."
I like the quote on page 31, "There has never been a package like you ever before in history, nor will there ever be again." (Laurie Beth Jones, The Path).
It would be a good idea for both partners to get there own book because there are charts and questions where you mark your individual answers to learn more about yourself and missions. I recommend this book to couples looking to go on missions together.
