I was already a very healthy person, not overweight and not on meds, but after adapting the things Steve teaches in the book, I've taken my health to another level...and I'm 59 yrs old!
The reason I took one star off, is the links to the resources, at the back of the e-book, lead to a page with a 404 error message. In other words, the resources cannot be accessed. I emailed the author concerning this, and I don't know if this has been corrected or not, as I have not checked this out lately.
I would suggest to anyone interested in eating healthier, that they read this book.
Chapter 2 was especially interesting, as it explains how we as Americans were given misinformation in 1977 that is having significant negative effects in the current day, and it doesn't appear to be letting up. The book builds on this and provides the scientific evidence that was needed back then. Had considerations such as intermittent fasting, a primal diet, and the fact that it's not how many calories we eat but instead what we eat and when, been given to Americans, we would not be where we are now. Please pick up this book and share the information with others so the information our country needs gets out there.
As a colleague of Steve's, I am very glad that he wrote this book so you are able to learn firsthand from a knowledgeable and trusted member of the pharmacy profession how the food you eat is truly what determines your ultimate level of health and how many medications you are on.
This book empowers you with just enough of the science to understand how to make the necessary changes and why they are essential. It was well-written an easy to read, like sitting down to talk with a doctor who actually cares about getting to the root cause of what ails you.
Dr. Hughlett is clearly passionate about helping people and spreading the news of how nutrition is the key to it all. I can't help but wonder what the impact would be if every home in America had a copy of this book!
