I've read the whole Loving on the Edge series, and was very excited to see this novella drop while waiting for the next book. Yours All Along is unlike the rest of the series - there is no interaction with any of the other cast members. Instead, most of the book is a flashback sequence from when Hunter and Devon were roommates in college. Normally, this would not work for me. I am a "look forward, not backward" type of girl. But...watching out-and-proud Devon and straightest-guy-on-the-planet Hunter slowly circle the subject of their attraction, then act on it in a series of circumstances that allowed for a lowering of barriers, was spectacular. The build up was slow, and completely believable.

Briefly, there was some college involvement, then Hunter was in a car accident and shipped back to Texas to recuperate. Hunter never told Devon goodbye, for several reasons. Flash forward to the present - Hunter is engaged and wondering how he ended up living the life by which he is trapped. His fiancée offers him a solo break to Dallas to get his head on straight, and happens to mention Devon is in Dallas. Hunter seeks him out, and....

Hunter is a good guy. I mean, stands up for his friends, is open and honest, generous - a good guy. Devon is pulling himself up, with the help of his sister, after getting kicked out of the family for being gay. When Devon decides to join a fraternity, the other guys are reluctant to room with him. Hunter steps right in, because he is a Good Guy. (At that point, they didn't know each other at all) They become good friends, and things kind of evolve.

There is a lot of emotional depth to this novella. Devon is subjected to homophobia, and his rage at the ignorance being leveled at him is palpable.

Another winner from Roni Loren. The characters drew me in right from the start, and by the time it switched to their past, I wasn't sure which one I felt for more. You could see they were both hurting. Then, we got the peek into their past, and I loved the way the relationship shifted. And I may have wanted to punch Hunter's father in the throat. Just saying.

And I'm so happy to see they'll be side characters int he next book, so we'll see more of them. This was a quick read, and I almost wish we could have seen a little more at the end, but it was still so good.

Confession: I LOVE Roni Loren's Loving On the Edge series. Like, if I could marry it; I would. I occasionally read male/male romances and they're hit or miss for me. This one was a hit. Like, slap-your-butt-and-leave-a-palm-print-for-days hit.

It had me laughing, ugly crying, heart aching, full on emotional wreck once I swiped to the last page on my e-reader. And I tried swiping and swiping just hoping for more. Too bad for me, nothing there. *sigh*

Hunter and Devon were friends (the best of friends) in college, roommates at their frat, and eventual lovers behind closed doors. Devon is totally okay with who he is but Hunter is from a very conservative family and this leads to their breakup. The son of congressman with a guy? That would look really bad. Like most m/m stories I've read, this is the cause. One guy is ready to declare it to the world, one isn't and must make a choice.

The side story of Hunter getting married to a beauty queen had me a little pissed. I DID NOT like her. She was the type of girl who tests her man's loyalty through manipulation. I've known girls like this and it never ends well for anyone. The best thing she did for Hunter was suggest he ask Devon to be his best man at their wedding. I was 110% behind that (no pun intended, okay maybe a little) because Hunter and Devon's feelings haven't really cooled. I may or may not have been chanting 'kiss, kiss, kiss' while reading scenes where they interacted with each other.

If you're looking for a quick weekend read or looking into getting your feet wet in the male/male genre, try YOURS ALL ALONG. Fans of second chance romances or friends-to-lovers will also enjoy this story.

Now, when can I get my next Roni Loren fix?

This book is so hot it about set me on fire. Although it’s part of the Loving on the Edge series you don’t have to have read any of the other books to enjoy this one.

This is Roni Loren’s first all M/M romance and boy does she know how to write it. This book begins in present day and then flashes back to when Devon and Hunter were college roommates. This was a perfect way to tell their story.

Hunter is about to get married but his fiancé feels there is something “off” about him and she sends him on a vacation. She suggests he visit his best friend who he hasn’t spoken to in several years. She has Googled Devon and made arrangements for Hunter to stay at a resort near where Devon lives.

Hunter goes to visit Devon where he works but gets drunk waiting for him. Against his better judgement Devon drives him to the resort and they begin talking. The next part of the book takes place four years earlier, when Hunter and Devon were in college.

There is so much emotion in this book I could feel it coming off of the pages as I read it. This story proves that if the love story is good it doesn’t matter if it’s a M/F or M/M book; love is love.

I didn’t want to put this book down once I started and yet I hated for it to end. This always happens for me when I read one of Roni Loren’s books. If I have one complaint about Yours All Along it’s that I wanted it to be longer. I know a book has to end sometime but I was left with an enormous amount of want when I came to the end of this one. There isn’t a cliffhanger, Devon and Hunter get their HEA but there were so many things I wanted to know more about. I must admit I was so caught up in the story that I was not aware I was reading the last chapter when it ended.
