Yours, Everlasting: a Gay Fairytale Romance (Enchanted Folklore) Kindle Edition
Evrard . . .Rhys . . .Evander . . .
Evander has gone by many names in the last thousand years. He’s lived almost as many lives, using his immortality and his unique shapeshifting abilities to become anyone and anything.
He's sacrificed lifetimes in his effort to eradicate the malevolent magic threatening all humankind. He's ready for a well-deserved rest. But the past never stays buried, and he discovers that it’s been watching him . . .
Marcos, the Guardian of War, has waited, he’s observed, he’s admired, and he’s yearned. But now it’s time for him to step into the light and let Evander see him for who he truly is. An ally, not a foe. Maybe even a lover.
But fate is fickle, destinies aren’t set in stone, and as much as Marcos hopes Evander might be his, it will be the fight of his life to not only win Evander’s heart, but to defeat the evil that once again raises its sinister head.
Yours, Everlasting is a fast-paced, action adventure-packed story about two immortals, and includes shapeshifting, magical swords, flying fire balls, far too much pining, a healthy dose of sarcasm, and an emotional HEA.

Once upon a time, Evander was one of thirteen Guardians serving as the Conclave living together in the Castle on Top of the World. He was the Guardian of Secrets, but one act of betrayal by one his brothers--one of his fellow Guardians--led to his banishment to the surface. In the last thousand years or so since then, he's dedicated himself to ensuring that any sort of malevolent magic is gone, no longer becoming a threat to humans. He's shifted into the King of Unicorns, Evrard, and bearing the name Rhys, has served as royal adviser to King Grayson and King Emory. Everything is as it should be...except...Evander is...bored. And maybe that's why we he finds out that his past is making its presence known for the first time since he was stripped of his powers and pushed out of the Conclave, he can't resist its lure. Even if Marcos, Guardian of War, happens to be part of that past. With secrets being divulged, can Evander do everything that is necessary to defeat the evil that threatens all of humankind--the same evil that threatens the Conclave from within?
This book was enthralling to say the least! I loved finally getting Evander's story. He was such a source to be reckoned with in the first book as Evrard and Rhys, and now, readers get to find out what it was that led him to the surface. I think that Marcos was the perfect partner for Evander, and while it may have taken some time--a millennium!--for Evander to realize just how deeply Marcos felt for him, once that dawning began, there was no stopping it. Aside from the romance, there was suspense and mystery, and all that wondrous and fantastical aspects that made for such a darn enticing story. Of course, I adored seeing Gray and Rory and all the usual suspects from the series starter, and seeing how far they've all come warmed my heart. I really hope that we get more from the Enchanted Folklore series, because Beth Bolden has definitely created this world that deserves to be revisited time and again. Yours, Everlasting is a 2022 top favorite and gets five-plus stars.
This story is all about Evander who we have previously met as Evrard the King of Unicorns and Rhys, the scholarly figure father figure in the story of Grey and Rory. He we find out and see more of who Evander really is, how he got into the world and what was the main reason why he did all those things. It also introduces to Marcos who is the Guardian of War and what his role is on why Evander is stuck in the human world.
The book introduced the Guardians - beings who are much like a deity each individual holding a different power and purpose that they must fulfill. They were created to protect and guide mankind but something dark and evil has slowly corrupted them and led them astray. It will take the full power and cooperation between Marcos and Evander to eradicate this threat but even their combined strength might not be enough to stop this mysterious enemy and save the world they love.
It was wonderful to read the blossoming relationship between Evander and Marcos. It was such a joy to see Evander's slow realization of his love for Marcos and how the reader get to see him be more vulnerable and open with his emotions. Finding out the reason why he was like made his character more sympathetic and likeable. I loved Marcos' unwavering love and his protectiveness towards his fellow Guardian.
The world building has been on point and the additional lore provided was a treat. The pacing of the story overall was good, though there were some moments of where it slowed down but not enough to deter one from continuing with the story as it picks up its pace sooner. There are some steamy moments in the book but not a lot so if one is expecting something quite spicy, this might not quench that thirst for one.
Still, this has been a nice, fun read and there is definitely potential for other books that could be set into this world.
This would be 4.25 stars out of 5 for me.
I received an ARC of this book via GBP and I have chosen to publish my fair and honest review.
One of thirteen divine beings, stripped of most of his power, worked in secret to protect the world. And in all that time, he was guarded/watched by someone holding the biggest torch ever.
A lot of bickering, and slow burn as someone who worked thousands of years alone fights to trust and work as a team.
