From School Library Journal
Kindergarten-Grade 5?Kids still like to write in yearbooks and autograph books. It's a childhood ritual that goes on year after year and provides lots of good times. All the old favorites are here, plus some new, or maybe not so new, ideas about secret messages and ingenius ways to leave one's signature. Amusing black-and-white line drawings add to the appeal. The selections are great reading, too, for the sounds and rhythms of language. Good fun.?Pamela K. Bomboy, Chesterfield County Public Schools, VA

Gr. 3-5. Fans of the authors' and illustrator's other books, such as Six Sick Sheep (1993), Crazy Eights (1994), and Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road? (1994), will be attracted to the familiar format of this volume, here presenting rhymes from children's autograph albums and school yearbooks. The rhymes range from fresh to familiar, from sincere to silly, from cryptic to corny. To paraphrase the potato chip ad, "Bet you can't read just one." Tiegreen's expressive line drawings give the pages an inviting look, and the cover picture of a chocolate-drenched banana split with whipped cream is an eye-catcher.
