The book is about the author herself. Derryen was working at Juvenile prison. From an young she dreamt of being in fbi while being motivated from shows like Cold case files and CSI. Her passion was to investigate things, solving the puzzles and clues.
An unfortunate incident occurs when she is violently attacked by an inmate numerous times in the head and face.
This incident changes her life completely. She couldn't accept the fact that her life will now not be the one she dreamt of.
In this book she writes about her trauma, her experiences, her struggles and writes about it to help someone in similar situations by being brutally honest.
One part of this book that really touched me was that the author provided a guide on how to help someone in mental depression or trauma especially when that person is being difficult. That person maybe is someone you love dearly and they push you, resist you or show anger and you feel powerless and helpless.
The author provides he guide about what and what not to do.
The book is so emotional, so beautifully threaded together that it touched me beyond words. A book like this is such a necessity because there are people so many of them, that needs this, even though they may not be having the exactly same trauma.
This book definitely must be a part of your tbr. With simple language and smooth pace you will definitely not regret picking this up.
