I had this game years ago and just this week I got it again. I enjoyed playing it the first time I had it. It's an entirely different game from what you're normally used to though it still involves having 3 character (or monsters) in a team and using items or something to beat your opponents. Right now I'm in Kaiba's Campaign after completing Yugi's twice. I wanted to challenge myself by not using the same monsters from the first play (ended up using a few monsters from the first round) and level up the first team of monsters you get for every Marshall. Whenever I have a warrior, I always have the following items equipped: Silver Bow & Arrow (so that the attack never misses, which is a pain because the game tends to make you miss more while the enemy hits you more), Sword of Dragon Soul (or whatever its called. The one that lands critical hits against dragon monsters) and either a Legendary Sword (extra 500 ATTACK point boost) or medicine. For "star" monsters (Dark Witch for example), I always have one or two Silver Bow & Arrows, medicine and an Enchanted Javelin (critical attack against Dark Monsters). I basically just use 2 attack boosting items and either something to do critical damage or something to heal with.
I like the characters they have in the game though I think it would've been cool if Pegasus appeared in Yugi's Campaign instead of just Kaiba's. Sure he didn't have much of an appearance on the anime but he was the first antagonist (not including the "before Yu-gi-oh!" Season 0 series) of the series (never read the manga). I'm a little confused with the Labyrinth Ruler character. Does not say a single word the entire game but he looks cool. Fizdis, I don't recall seeing her before (again, didn't read the manga so if she appeared in that, I wouldn't know) but she's a decent character. She's not really worth taking along on missions but I bring her anyway.
Bottom line, this is a good game. Entirely different from the card game. Just monsters and no cards.
