as far as some Manga's I've seen, Besides the Main Story line one, I absolutely Love these Side/Alternate Stories that the Yu-Gi-Oh! R, GX, 5Ds, Zexal and Arc-V are going for, with this one it starts with an Apprentice of Pegasus using a Evil Version of the Egyptian God Cards to Attack Yugi, Blaming him for the Deed done to Pegasus by The Evil Spirit of the Millennium Ring. This Manga is quiet short with only 5 volumes which most of the other series run for 9 volumes so If you Can I would Recommend buying all 5 volumes
P.S
Due to how old this Manga is, Do NOT Expect the cards in them, I doubt the cards will be in these books for this book was Released in 2009-2010 so If you're buying this for the card, prepare to be disappointed.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
My main reason for getting this manga was for the promo card but it doesn't include it, nor does it say in the front cover like in the picture.

People didn't really seem to like this series all that much but I did. For starters most of the duels don't overstay their welcome, I enjoyed array of quirky villains and the dark gods were an interesting concept. Zombie Bandit Keith was a massive jump the shark moment but honestly I wouldn't mind seeing where it goes.

The book was in great condition but the advertised image says that the card comes with it and it does not which is part of the reason I bought this product so if you want the card as well don’t buy

Not bad, but...

So with the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series ending, how could they possibly continue it? Well, YGO R is set between Duelist and Millennium World, sort of like how in the anime the Oricalchos Season was set between Battle City and the last one.
As a result, its not bad, but it lacks the feel of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! manga, and no wonder as it not by the original creator, but Akira Ito, who also worked on the GX manga. Come to think of it, it does feel like that manga too. Yugi has to duel 13 Card Professors, and therefore Duels are about 1 to 2 chapters long. I do wish they chose less duelist and just have longer duels, I mean why 13 for a 5 book series? The Card Professors look like they have so much promise, but they hardly get any time for character development. It also lacks any of the dark themes in the original, though I don't know if there will be any of that later on in the series.
On the plus side, it's good to see Yugi and pals once again in a new story arc, not one I've read or watched 100 times. In this volume alone, we see Yugi, Jonouchi, Honda, Anzu, Pegasus (In a flashback), and I think Bandit Keith, as well as a new villian, Yako Tenma. The next volume promises the return of fan favorite, Seto Kaiba. This volume came with a free card too, Van'Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord.
I recommend this if you are missing Yugi and pals and want to see them in a new adventure. If you disliked the GX manga, then this might not be for you as it has the same feel as that manga. As for me, I am curious to see Yugi save Anzu from being sacrificed, and hey, only 5 books then the 25 books Duelist took, so it won't be too long.

The R series has not reached the anime yet. Despite being written by Akira Ito who assisted Kazuki Takahasi (who written yugioh, Yugioh duelist and yugioh millieum world) It had a very good plot line and it helped the original characters developing their characters even further, and help the new characters develop.
