The Yu-Gi-Oh trading card game is one of the most complex gaming systems available. The "World Championship" annual series is an amazing resource for players, as well as a great stand-alone game. It has a story mode, plus lots of tools such as a fully searchable card list with over 10000 items. This is an invaluable tool for finding the right card for one's tournament deck in real life. I love having the ability to make searches such as "trap card, send target out of play, continuous". The in-game competitors are excellent and diverse, providing the opportunity to truly test a deck against a variety of opponents.

The story mode is pleasant and also provides a lot of varied competitors. I was a little disappointed when the designers once again chose to use locations and character images from previous years' games. I'd love to have a completely new design for the story mode next year.

For me personally, the motorcycle-racing aspect of the game is annoying. I'm an older player with somewhat poor reflexes and eyesight, and I lack the coordination to easily survive the motorcycle courses. This slows down the story mode considerably, and leaves me frustrated. I like the concept of "turbo dueling", with its different cards and gameplay. It's the pure racing tasks that I dislike, and which seem to me like distractions and stumbling blocks to the game.

All in all, Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship is the DS game that I most look forward to, year after year. It gives me hundreds of hours of pure enjoyment, testing different deck designs against opponents and enjoying the in-game tools. I highly recommend it for people who are interested in mastering this complex TCG, or who are looking for an unparalleled mental workout.

I bought this because it was the most recent World Championship game. It is very good. I find it weird that it has a story mode (I prefer the just dueling) but it was still fun.

Really hoping there is a next in the series

Simple Games With Simple Problems I liked the game, however i have noticed that with many of the R.P.G (roll playing games) there have been many problems in the programing. like when the games characters speak the spelling of their words is wrong. Also when it comes time to choose the gender of the character one would like to play, the game automaticly assumes that your playing the male gender role. With such statements as (I like.. He is so cool.) (yeah He is the best.) Or like ( where is .... Did He run off?) The game its self works fine, and is fun to play. But with such a common problem contenually existing in these series of R.P.G one would think that the programing company would fix this issue,so that customers wont get cunfused trying to understand the word play and so that they actualy get there moneys worth. In reguards to the problem I listed above; I have also noticed that the same programing gliches acure in simalair role playing games like the Kingdom Hearts DS game. Given that almost all these games are manufactured out of korea or Japan industries, I cant help but wonder if the games spelling errors are becuase those who make this are furan; and do not know how to correctly spell our english language. Or if its just because the companies are rushed to meet consumer demands wich then cuases a greater chance of makeing these gaming errors. In order to address this problem I have tried to email the companies who make these games. However was unable to email them or even call them. Henceforth I beleave the only way t spread the word about these gameing issues: is if others like myself post reveiws letting others know the games fualts, so they dont waste there money on the product, and so that mabe if the company loses money they might address the problem.Read more ›

We were preparing to go on a long family road trip- about 7 hour drive each way. I wanted to buy each of my children a new game for their DS to keep them occupied. My son requested this Yu-Gi-Oh game since he had recently gotten re-interested in Yu-gi-oh while at camp. While I can't personally speak for the fun level of the game, my son has played it quite often and it kept his interest for at least half of the car ride which allowed me to drive in peace and quiet...so I give it 5 stars for that!!

This game plays out the role of the hero within the second season of Yugioh 5D's. Just like in previous yugioh games, the hero duels various characters to compete against several bosses throughout the game. I feel that this game is very fun for all yugioh fans. I highly recommend this game for most ages.

This game is amazing. Being a guy who has played duel monsters for a long time and watched the shows through GX, playing a game where I can duel, and other things, without having to have another person around is one of the most joyful things for me. The storyline in the game is really good, and enjoyable. Plus, being able to duel with cards from the beginning and up to the present is always a pleasure. Sadly, though, I've noticed a few flaws that, I'm guessing, the game creators didn't take enough time to iron out. The main flaw I've come across is that some effects are only for certain purposes and yet you'll see something happen that shouldn't happen, according to the wording of the card. Chaining cards might have a glitch, but then again it could be me not knowing one rule that goes into the chaining. To elaborate on the chaining part, I mean that if you are going into damage calculation, or something, you can chain at any time to any card activation as long as that card can be chained to another card by effect. I've got a little frustrated as I don't know if I'm correct or not with it possibly being wrong (the game I mean). The last flaw, I'm going to list, has to do with a specific effect. This one has to do with Alien monsters. Alien counters decrease attack and defense of all monsters that battle with alien monsters. Well, the problem in the game is that the game requires that you have monsters that have the effect of losing attack/defense, from the counters, in order for the effect to work. I don't think this is right as the alien counter effect is meant to activate in battle with an alien monster, I don't know of any reason that you need the effect to be written on a card to activate the counters effects.Read more ›
