Well these dummy cameras would be absolutely, 5-star perfect if it wasn't for one nagging issue with all of them: The blinking lights. What's supposed to be arguably the best feature turns out to be only half as good as it could have and should have been. Here's the problems with the flashing light in order of how big of a problem it is:

1. It blinks or flashes way too often! Flashing every 2 seconds? To me, an electronics guru, that signifies a device that's not operating properly and to others may appear fake. In either case, it's not good! These lights should flash once every 4-5 seconds, not 2!

2. The flashing light is too bright! I want people to be able to see the flashing light, trust me, but these lights are just too bright and unrealistically so.

3. The flashing light shouldn't be located on or near the camera lens! Any idiot would know a flashing status light anywhere near the camera's field of vision, let alone right dead center practically, is a design failure! I'd right away suspect a camera as a fake or dummy like these for seeing a flashing light located there!

These flashing light letdowns are almost enough to cause me to not even put batteries in and have it flash. Almost. Overall I'm very happy with the dummy cams but I really wish the light would have been executed way better on the units!

Beyond this, I will say others are right that you have to be very, very careful when mounting these to your wall. If you screw a screw even a tad too tight to the cheap plastic on the cameras you'll easily crack or break them. I was super careful so I didn't, but it could very easily happen!

Time will tell how well these dummy cams hold up. For now it's a solid 4 out of 5 stars but easily could have been 5. Seems they had a real dummy design these dummy cams.

The barrel "cameras" are a complete waste. All four were installed and operational for about a 6 weeks when they all died within days of each other. The dome cameras have better longevity, but there are variations in quality of luminescence, with one showing signs of "last legs." Vendor was contacted and he/she shipped three different cameras of each type. Barrel cameras stopped working within days. Haven't tried the new dome cameras because the original dome shipment is still hanging on, barely. I would avoid this product.

These products are exactly what you need to deter intruders or thieves from doing something you would not want. They look just exactly like my other security camera's that are real. These supplement my "real surveillance equipment" in places where they can be easily seen and to make someone think twice before acting. My "real" surveillance equipment covers the important areas. These products are well worth the money and are well made.

So far a couple of pros have made remarks that were positive - in short they were fooled as intended.
I also have a 'virtual' guard dog complete with stainless steel water and food containers clearly visible from the front gate.
I do have real cameras that function normally.

the cams look like the real deal...in fact i would bet its the same housings minus the electronics of the REAL cams.....the black dome cams had real glass cam shields. will defiantly cut down on the amateur thiefs and vandals.......the real bandits will hit your home with real cams or not!

Cameras look great, very realistic. The red blinking light is a cool feature, but some other reviews stated that they don't think real security cameras have a blinking light. Either way, the purpose of the cams are to serve as a deterrent and I'd like to believe that a criminal would not want to take the risk of verifying whether they are real or not. Installation was a breeze!

These things are perfect, battery life is great, and they look real. When you set them up, make sure you conceal the wire like real cameras and point them in the general direction you want monitored. Don't just toss the cameras up in random places.

These work very well and look real to me, though I have been told by a reformed criminal that they do not fool an expert. I still think they are a good deterrent. I'm hoping they have good battery life, as they are posted in very high spots.
