5.0 out of 5 stars Stability, stability, stability - not to mention beauty and functionality
By Dave on April 24, 2016
During assembly DO NOT tighten (even finger tight) any of the bolts and scews. Wait until all is done. The only exceptions are the two support bars for the keyboard tray because the bolts which fasten these to the rest of the desk are inaccessible once the glass top is attached. The components seem to have been intentionally designed to not fit exactly which is a good thing when done right. Some of the parts resist fitting to each other, and so when you finally force them together by tightening the bolts they join under some tension. This is part of the secret to stability. This Z-Line table is amazingly stable. It's rock solid with not a hint of wobble, wiggle, shimmy or shake. Add to that it's beauty - cool design, wood accents, and nice thick tinted (and I think tempered) glass top - and you have a fine desk at a good price.

My only complaint is that the assembly instructions could be better. There are a few pieces like the wood legs that appear to be identical but in fact have some key difference. As shown in the attached photo, there are two chrome plated support bars that runs from bolt sockets on the INSIDE of these legs up to the underside of the glass top. So, the 'left' and 'right' legs must each be on the correct side. I caught this, but the schematic drawing in the instructions made it look (to me) like these support bars were attached to the outside of the legs. So in "Step 2", I installed the wood legs exactly backwards. This caused no problems at all until I got to Step 5 where the chrome bars are installed and then it flat didn't work. A better drawing (or better still, a photo) in the instructions could prevent such confusion. This and some other points of confusion in the instructions added to assembly time which for me came to about 3 hours total. However, I still rate this desk with 5 stars because the end result is just so darn good!

5.0 out of 5 stars Liking my Desk!
By cino on June 25, 2017
Nice concept for a desk. I personally don't use the keyboard tray since I'm also a gamer and prefer more open spaces on the top of the desk.

Absolutely no wobble. I was concerned that it might be a bit "wobbly" as other minimal desk designs are. Glad to say that once it's together it is very stable and sturdy. I bought 3 of these and each one arrived undamaged (fwiw).

Of course, made in China. Included tools for assembly are a joke. Don't even bother opening them up, just trash it. Comes with a few spare screws and such just in case which is nice. The glass top really pulls it all together. The design depends on the rigidity of the glass and subglass frame to really give it stability.

Mostly lightweight, one person can move it around after assembly. Oh, one issue. The warning stickers they put on the glass top. If it were me I would have gone with static cling sticker types. Unfortunately they choose some epoxy mix thus almost permanently attaching the stickers to the glass. I had to use a few razor blade scrappers along with some GOO Gone to completely remove the adhesive and then a good cleaning with glass cleaner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally great desk, you'll love it!
By Amazon Customer on April 20, 2019
OK, so in the next few months I am going to renovate my office (sand and repair the walls, prime, paint, new curtains, etc.) and I wanted a new desk as well. I have looked all over the web at desks for several months and I just wasn't finding exactly what I was looking for. So I finally saw this one, and it IS exactly what I was looking for! It is slightly wider than my old desk, which is good, and I like the fact that it has the sliding keyboard tray underneath. The shaded glass is nice, as are the black metal parts and dark wood veneer front legs. I feel the cost was reasonable for the quality, which seems good initially. I would say it took maybe two to two and a half hours to assemble. I'm kind of a perfectionist so I aligned everything precisely and tightened everything uniformly. It may go together more quickly if you assemble things faster than I do! There were quite a few things to put together and lots of different screws and things, but the instructions are clear and if you focus on it and don't get in a rush you should be able to assemble this yourself. I would absolutely buy this desk again and recommend it to anyone who is looking for an affordable desk of this style. I am serious when I say I think I looked at most desks all over the web before I finally spotted this one. Five stars all the way.
