Bad Design Choices and High Price = Poor Value
I've been searching for years for a foldable bluetooth keyboard to use with my iPhone, Windows Atom Tablet and iPad Air - one that I could stow in my bag or car, ready to use when I need to type that sudden long email, or customer response to a burning question since I don't always have my laptop with me. Sure, I have a keyboard case for my iPad Air, but that makes it twice as thick as with my Apple Smart Case, as I don't use it the keyboard very often it gets in the way 90% of the time, as I have to flip the case around and make sure the keyboard is off to use the iPad in touch mode.I thought I'd give the ZAGG Pocket Foldable keyboard a try, but I have to confess that I didn't like it. It seems flimsily built, and the keyboard itself cramped and hard to use. To top it off, it is more expensive than alternatives, such as the Plugable Folding Bluetooth Keyboard. Not only that, the ZAGG folds in a package that is less compact than other folding keyboards that have a larger typing area and better feeling keys and cost less...so it's a non-starter.In order to achieve a compact form factor, you have to compromise, but the trick is making the correct compromises that result in a highly useable solution - and this ZAGG folding keyboard makes too many poor design choices to even come close to justifying its $69 price tag.Pros:• Folds into a decently compact package, though surprisingly long• Has integrated stand (this is also a Con)• Has magnetic clasps to keep closed• Standard keyboard layoutCons:• Folds lengthwise, so is not compact - not pocketable even in cargo pants or jacket pocket (see photo 1 ZAGG and Plugable folded)• Integrated stand is part of the device, so no option to jettison stand to save space - stand is not very adjustable and is shallow, so not really well suited for larger tablets• Flimsily built - almost feels as if it will break from normal folding and unfolding• Keys have poor tactile feel - keboard is very cramped compared to alternatives solutions (see photo 2 ZAGG on top, Plugable on bottom)• Expensive - twice the cost of keyboards that better designed, more robust and more functional (such as the Plugable keyboard)

This is very handy to use for composing memos. It does the job well - though you will not write the Great American Novel on it.

Just a few (minor) criticisms:
Firstly, The external "skin" of the device is a fine satin stainless or aluminium. It is functional but an "engineered" material would perhaps have been better because it would not show fingerprints and scratches so easily. Also, since it will show scratches, it would have been good to provide a thin, fitted bag or case to hold the device to protect it - it is so sleek you will want to show all your friends! Lastly, If Zagg is going to attach one of those obtuse "California Warnings" about how one must rest every so often while using the Pocket, I wish it had done so using a less adhesive sticker. Most people pay no attention to that intrusive nagging and remove the sticker immediately. Please, Zagg make it easier to get the nagware off. The device is far too good looking to be afflicted with intrusive nagware.

That said, merely opening the device when your iPhone 6+ is on pairs both of them so that the Pocket is instantly ready - there is no lag time between opening and working. Bravo, Zagg. Even better, there is no need to go through a pairing procedure such as pressing specific buttons; the device does it all on its own!

Moreover, even with my thick "battery case" on the iPhone6+, it still sits well on the phone prop of the Zagg so you are confident you can begin work and your iPhone will stay put during your typing.

In sum: this fairly well avoids the need to carry a laptop for 95% of what I do and fits easily into my thin leather portfolio. I have no need to carry a 2-4lb laptop and a power brick. The iPhone6+, charger and Zagg are 1/10th the size/weight of a Mac + power brick.

In order to achieve a compact form factor, you have to compromise, but the trick is making the correct compromises that result in a highly useable solution - and this ZAGG folding keyboard makes too many poor design choices to even come close to justifying its $69 price tag.

Pros:

• Folds into a decently compact package, though surprisingly long
• Has integrated stand (this is also a Con)
• Has magnetic clasps to keep closed
• Standard keyboard layout

Cons:

• Folds lengthwise, so is not compact - not pocketable even in cargo pants or jacket pocket (see photo 1 ZAGG and Plugable folded)
• Integrated stand is part of the device, so no option to jettison stand to save space - stand is not very adjustable and is shallow, so not really well suited for larger tablets
• Flimsily built - almost feels as if it will break from normal folding and unfolding
• Keys have poor tactile feel - keboard is very cramped compared to alternatives solutions (see photo 2 ZAGG on top, Plugable on bottom)
• Expensive - twice the cost of keyboards that better designed, more robust and more functional (such as the Plugable keyboard)

It works great for 3weeks. After that the bottom line’s keys didn’t work (others were fine).
Once I replaced it and 2months later the same problem occurred.
Good design, light, and portable but not a good quality at all.
Do not waste your money!

I'm very very pleased with my product from Zagg. Once I saw this at a retail store I knew I had to buy it. Once I saw this at a retail store I knew I couldn't really afford it but I just bought an iPhone six and I knew I needed to figure something out with some mobility with typing on a lot of layouts etc. I'm excited that I got the delivery so quickly and I count have been more happier with this product. The keyboard is well worth it and and easy to type. The battery usage is perfect and you can use it for quite a long time. And it shows you how much battery life is left through out your time. Great product and saved money as well. Well worth my money. I give it a 4, why? Because I love how slick it is, but I wish the hand layout of the keyboard was a bit shorter .love the way it's slim and put in your bag. Maybe a coat pocket if you have a big enough pocket. The Bluetooth is very easy to pair and it's a one time thing and making sure your device is on and it works like a charm. Good product.

The caps lock is in a bad spot and I keep hitting it with my pinky. It is not so easy to undo the caps lock once it's been pressed, which also I find highly annoying, to the point that I hardly use this. I'd buy a full size keyboard next time. We only tried this because someone at Best Buy said it was his favorite portable keyboard. I'm thankful I didn't pay $80 for this or I'd be rather upset about this purchase.
One positive aspect about it is that is does pair very quickly and reliably with my Kindle Fire and it does have a handy perch for the tablet. It certainly folds up very neatly and stores nicely.
I'm a woman with smallish hands, too, and it's still a little too small for me.

I'm writing this review on the keyboard using a Lenovo Phab 2 Pro (6.5" screen); with my bluetooth mouse it gives me a micro-Android laptop.

Keyboard works great. Easy to pair, small/portable, good build quality. I've charged it once since I received it about a week ago and it's still going. Some of the keys are small (duh, it's a tiny keyboard) but I can type about 5x as fast vs the soft on-screen keyboard, it frees up screen real estate, and disables annoying auto-correct. I despise writing emails on my phone, but this keyboard makes it bearable and eliminates need to carry around a big laptop to get work done.

Loving it so far, very worth the price of admission.

Light, thin, well built. A little too long to fit comfortably in pants pocket, but when it is in there, it's a comfortable fit because it is so thin - it just sticks out. Keys have a nice feel. Easy to open, connect, and start using. Just one issue that stops me from giving 5/5: I get the old Bluetooth keyboard repeating key issue, which I thought was a thing of the past (in this case, it randomly starts putting in letter "v"s while I'm typing, and sometimes just continuously types letter "vvvvvvvvvvvvv"s, which makes it unusable). It might be a stuck key, but I don't think so - I've used many Bluetooth keyboards over the years, and I've seen this before.

Overall: well done zagg, but not the dream portable keyboard I was waiting for. Close. The closest yet. But for me, not perfect yet.
