    Wide, but Not Too Wide
The Loxia 25/2.4 is a perfect alternative to a 35 (or 50) mm "walk-about" or Street lens. It is also good for architecture and interiors, at home and when traveling. Since the lens is completely mechanical, you can focus by zone for street documentary purposes. It is also good for landscapes, since there is never a question which part of the scene is in perfect focus. Loxia lenses are compact, only 2" in diameter, which makes them easy to carry when hiking, in a pocket or a small pouch. The 25/2.4 is very sharp out to the corners of the frame (I use a Sony A7R3), and produces excellent sun stars at f/8 or higher (the diffraction limit). There is only a touch of astigmatism and "cat eyes" for OOF areas, but very little onion skin affect in OOF highlights. I attached a photo of the milky way, taken with this lens.

Chromatic aberration is strong, ghosts these are I dislike. Sharpness and character are excellent.
