Well I launched it for a night flight over water. It did ok for a minute or so then began to fly very irratic so much so I could no longer control the drone. I could not even bring it back in. When I pushed the return home button thinking it would bring it back in, it fell into the water.
I was able to retrieve the unit of not in a working condition.
So when I got home I looked into getting it fixed.
As I did like it. Just so happen there is a “repair center” in Doral Florida. Man was I happy not to have to send to China.
You must first send the unit to them then they contact you.
Well my elation was short lived when they informed me that since my drone, that I had for 60 days, got wet they could not repair it and in order to get it back I had to pay $18.95 to get it back.
I brought to their attention that it is wet because it malfunctioned. They ignored that aspect and just said “we can’t help you”.
This is a rip off!!! As the reason it went on the water to begin with was its own malfunction.
So while it was pretty good as a unit just forget it if you have any problems with it.
Now come the bad parts. I've just opened the package this morning, topped it up and went out to get going. Before I could do that however the app said I needed to update the drone's firmware but the instructions it gave wasn't all the way to the end, so I had to figure out how to finish the task myself (the part where the drone had to download the update itself- seems simple but the indicators kept stopping or weren't clear enough to let me know I was doing the right thing). After the first playing session getting to know to operate the thing and testing the photos & videos, juice ran out faster than the advertised 9mins- I think I got only 6-7mins on-time from it.
The next session, now remember- I had clocked only 7mins from this, I flew it nearer my house, up in-line with the roof where I'm planning for it to 360 my house. 2 minutes in with a full battery, for some reason I LOST CONNECTION with the drone when it was 18 feet right above me. Now, what would one expect from a SMART DEVICE if that happens- just hover there OR slowly land itself safely right? BUT NOOOOO, it did the worst ANY DRONE FLYER FEARS from a lost connection (which isn't even at all impossible)- IT STOPPED FLYING and DROPPED TO the HARD CONCRETE FLOOR LIKE A ROCK. In that second where it crunched to the ground, my $400 being flushed down the toilet flashed before me. Now here's the saving point as I mentioned earlier- it's got a pretty good build. What resulted from the pretty high fall were - a detached arm, huge dent on back side where the air vent is, and the power butten rammed in. Very thankfully, I was able to snap all that got loose back into place and now just have to live with that ugly dent.
I've continued to recharge and use the drone for the remainder of the day to get used to flying it and memorize the tricks. After everything, these are my negative conclusions:
(a) It's a quality product, but there's that FATALLY STUPID flaw. The only reason it's not one star is I'm still able to fly it after that fall.
(b) Battery life sucks. I have to PLAN and RUSH my shots or I won't enough time to take them if there's more fiddling about while drone's in the air.
(c) Part of the planning is leaving enough juice to transfer or upload the files via the drone's wifi. I connected the drone directly to my laptop and they couldn't detect each other.
(d) Extra battery is ridiculously expensive.
(e) The propellers loosely rotate out even if the arms are tucked in so may snag with other stuff in your bag or pocket. This one's easily solvable though.
A 9 minute flight time is very good and right on par with its competitor the Wingsland s6 which also claims an approx. 10 min, flight time.
Ill go into detail below about each major aspect of this drone.
Zerotech review: I received an English user manual, which many reviewers said they did not. I believe Zerotech listened to the consumers and now is providing an English manual. I also received a free spare battery, and as of 2-14-17 they are still offering this deal.
Spare parts: you can find these easily. The second you buy dobby, amazon will show you spare parts and they have many. So those individuals that mention there is no spare parts are incorrect.
Drone flight time: 5/5 The battery life is great. Knowing that its a selfie drone, if you use it for what it was intended for then there is plenty of flight time. This was never made to compete with a DJI flagship quad or any other full frame drone time. With that said it still beats inexpensive full frame drones in flight time such as any of the SYMA X8 series quads.
Drone photo/video: 4/5 the photo's from the dobby are superb. I cant tell the difference from my DJI and the dobby when transferred to my comp. If you have very little wind, this thing will blow you away with how good this camera is. Without a doubt it takes better stills than my gopro or my other 4k action cameras. The video WITHOUT EIS activated is like flying a drone with no gimbal, just a lot of jello. Now my advice is, take the dobby where you want without EIS activated (decrease in flight time when activated) when your ready for that video/photo activate the EIS and you will obtain some great stills/videos.
Drone build: 5/5 I personally believe this quad was made to withstand falls up to 5 ft anywhere. The reason is that Zerotech built it to land on the palm of your hand, and expected that it may fall sometimes from the palm. I would say it is built better than the DJI phantom series. Every time I take out my DJI, I know that if I mishandle it I could potentially destroy the gimbal or camera. With the Dobby those worries are not present.
Drone optical sensor: 4/5 Its a good piece of technology built into this drone. With that said, I know how they work. DO NOT expect it to work like GPS would outside, it just wont happen. The optical scanner works best with a flat contrasting floor, and no furniture around. If you follow those steps it can mimic how GPS would be and give you a great flight. My advice to novice pilots is don't attempt indoor flights until you are 100% comfortable with the drone.
Drone GPS: 5/5 I would score this much higher, and by far beats out my DJI gps stability. After launch if you have full satellite connection, the dobby will not move.
Overall this drone is worth the $400.00 price tag. The dobby is packed with features that are present in flagship full frame quads. The dobby is revolutionary right now, so enjoy it and don't get stuck on the little bugs that people experience. They will get updated and fixed by zerotech.
I hope this helps, and you enjoy your dobby.

2) 50 metre altitude
3) 7 min flying
4) 50 mins recharge
5) super stable
The battery received with it showed up empty (this is pretty rare for electronics) and refused to charge properly. Finally was able to play with it enough and get it charged, but upon trying the drone, the battery went from 100% to 50% in the span of less than a minute, and then down to virtually nothing.
Now the battery will not charge again.
I have purchased a replacement battery to see if this solves the issue, but if not, will be returning the entire device. Which is unfortunate because I quite like it, but without a functional battery it is basically useless.
Upon receiving a new battery, I have determined (and this appears to be a common issue) that the charger which came with the product is broken or dysfunctional. ZeroTech has not responded to any of my customer service emails or messages.
Unfortunately as mentioned I liked the product, but without a working charger it is just a useless piece of plastic. I will now (regrettably) have to return the drone, the carrying case, and other accessories purchased. Luckily Amazon has stellar customer service, because I would rate ZeroTech a zero on that scale.
Nice product -- if you don't get a defective one -- be thankful that Amazon is the seller, because the company does not respond to customer inquiries about broken products.
Also bought the propellor guard for indoors, recommended to prevent damaging the propellers.
