I have a few of these Zomei tripods and they have yet to let me down in build quality. This one is a carbon fiber tripod and is very lightweight..weighing in at a little over 3 pounds. If you are out doing a shoot and already packing around a ton of gear, every little ounce counts. It does come with a very nice rugged case and a nice velvet bag to protect the head while it is stowed away. The ball head is smooth for making those micro adjustments. I always worry about adding a decent amount of weight with large lenses and these things toppling over or the ball head just not holding the weight. This one holds everything in place and its easy to do...turn the knob. thats it. It stays. The monopod is super convenient., you don't have to pack another pole around..you have one right here on this tripod and its easy to convert over. Everything about this tripod/monopod gets a 5 star review from me. Its stylish sleek look with the metal colors is very nice. The price is dead on with comparable tripods. Its lightweight and easy to pack around. The legs are strong as well. The ball head is steady, smooth and easy to make on the fly adjustments. I have found myself grabbing this tripod over 6 other tripods I have, all week. For the price and the warranty they offer...this is a no brainer guys. I could really go on and on about this one but check out the video and see everything you get.

The legs extend nicely and the tripod feels secure at full extension and can handle some light winds. In heavier winds I would definitely use the the hook located at the bottom of the center shaft, at one point during high winds I had over 20 lbs hanging off this hook (which they do not recommend) and it performed just fine. Two of the legs also have foam grips which your hands will certainly be thankful for if you are shooting outside in cold temperatures. I've read some reviews that the tabs used to lock the legs in place, were cheap and broke off, I experience no problem whatsoever with this, I actual really enjoyed using the tabs as it makes adjustments on uneven terrain quick and easy. I also used the tripod as a makeshift mono pod, by only extending one leg and it worked just fine.
The tripod comes with a carrying bag that I never really used, instead I strapped it to my camera back pack (the kind where it rides vertical on the center of the backpack). I had it strapped there walking through cities, hiking down trails, etc. and I was never really uncomfortable. Sure there are lighter ones out there, but for the money this is a good weight. My only real gripe with the tripod comes when it is in its most compact state. The legs fold back and all the way up on the tripod and end up hitting the ball mount, which doesn't allow them to close all the way. Basically, you can get 2 of the three legs completed folded and tight, but the third one ends up sticking out slightly.
I had this tripod set up in pretty much every terrain you can imagine in Iceland, I even set it up in a stream among rapids and it held up just fine. Definitely completely satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend to others.
I do wish there was more flexibility with spreading the legs, but all in all, they work well. As always, I would recommend using a shutter release, timer, or remote, to get the stillest photos, but this thing stands pretty strong. Overall, I'm flummoxed that such a good tripod is this inexpensive. I can't wait to take it on my upcoming trip. I'll update if I run into any issues down the line, but so far I'm lovin' it.
Happy new year to all of you!
