I have had these camera for about 4 months. We have just had 3 days of -30 air temps and -60 windchills in northern WI. All the cameras are working even the ones on a pole 20 feet off the ground and 30 feet from any protection from the weather. They all seem to pick up motion such as vehicles, people and animals while ignoring trees and bushes swaying in the wind, but they do have zones so if something is triggering the camera constantly you can tell the camera to ignore it. The outside cameras also trigger at about to 200 feet, but the IR is only able illuminate to about 30 feet. I have motion lights and security lighting that already light up most of the areas I'm concerned about so not a deal breaker for me. Also the resolution is fine, but not quite good enough to read license plates from more than 50 feet from the camera. Overall the field of view is balanced for general applications. Also the wireless and repeater function is convenient and works flawlessly so I did not have to buy and run hundreds of feet of cable to some of the more remote locations.
Fairly basic but effective security cameras for the money. Took some trials and testing to get it set up, but I would expect that with any DYI prodject. It is plug and play and could be easily moved for temporary use or for renters. Gives me price of mind to know if anybody is at my house when I'm gone, even if it it fedex delivering packages.
** update after about 5 months there was condensation in 1 of the cameras and it was no longer in serviceable condition. Great customer service had a replacement to me within a week. The replacement (referred to as the newer style) has 3 (I believe 1W IR) instead of 48 smaller IR lights this makes for a brighter light that shines farther, great for outdoor applications. However it also has a aspect ratio that is taller but narrower than the old style. I switched it for one of the interior cameras as it was a better fit ratio wise, so I will not be able to take advantage of the better built in IR light. I am guessing the newer style is about 15° less viewing angle.
