Yes, it is pricey - and you can get a laptop with similar specs cheaper, but a laptop will NOT run graphics card at full capabilities on batteries, will not sit well on your back (or will get very hot in a backpack!), and will not last as long (especially as you can use this with just one of the two batteries, and hot-swap by installing charged one and then pulling old one to put on charge without shutting down.
It is a pity you cannot get a second set of batteries and power cable, but if you can afford two you can use those batteries and use the second as an (expensive) desktop I suppose :-) I have seen comments about it being ugly or cheap looking, but the balance (when worn) and the functionality is great - which is much better than a fancy box with flashing lights. I use this for hours (doing battery swap) with a HTC Vive and it is fantastic, then I stick next to my desk and connect to a monitor keyboard and mouse, and it is a high-end gaming desktop when plugged into wall.
So yes - it is not cheap, but for a niche product it is not too overpriced and does all it claims and more - I have used one of the other 'VR backpack computers' which looked a lot fancier with flashy case design (but not great when not worn), and this was a better feel when worn and easier to use both mobile and as a 'desktop'. Highly recommended.
(NOTE: as it uses a plug-pack for power, works on 'international power' also).
