Runs fine on 300w power supplies.
It also runs Roblox games pretty well on medium graphics, I wouldn’t recommend it for Fortnite though it runs but its really slow and laggy!
My pc~
Dell motherboard, i5-2320 3GHz, 8G of ddr3 ram at 1333 Hz, 240GB SSD, 500TB Hard drive, 300 power supply
Case: Antec ISK 310-150 with 150w PS
MB: MSI AM1I Socket AM1
APU: AMD Athlon 5150
RAM: Generic DDR3-1600 8gb (2x4gb)
Storage: Mushkin Reactor 2.5" 1tb SSD
OS: Windows 10 Pro
I was relying on the integrated APU graphics, but the system became slow when it was updated from Windows 7. I installed this card and noticed a instant increase in responsiveness and processes. My system now easily downloads plays 1080p streaming without the massive lag and buffering it was suffering from.
Price wise, it was an economical choice over the competitors. 4gb vs 1~2gb for same or more price, even though I will most likely never use it in full capacity, it should be sufficient for half a decade or more for my uses.
For gaming, I would recommend at least a G(R)TX (X)050 [or comparable Radeon] series, as those cards have:
a) better cooling
b) handle newer games more efficiently
The "GT" series were designed for "media" applications such as video playback and flash/web based games (Facebook for example), while the "(X)TX" series are for gaming in mind. This card does very well with the former, hence HTPC build.
If you need a single inexpensive card and you can use a DVI or HDMI cable to connect to the monitor, it might be OK for you. I gave it three stars only for my application, as I could use it but only with outdated drivers. For your application, it could be perfect.
