Overall the ZTE Speed is a good cell phone, I got one for my girlfriend as a gift. The pros of the Speed would be: it's large screen, clear pictures and video, fast Internet and the fact it's inexpensive. On the other side of the coin the phone experiences a delay in taking pictures, random restarts on occasion and half of its 8GB is already used up by pre installed applications. In no way, shape or form is this phone intended to rival an IPhone 6 or a Samsung Galaxy 6 but in terms of a budget smartphone; the ZTE Speed fits the bill.

Had this phone for a little over a month now after using two different Tracfones. It is definitely a step-up from those. Bigger screen, more responsive touchscreen, better internet reception, better camer7a and video , more readily available apps. I'm absolutely loving it, and find it tough to put down at times. Doesn't have that many preloaded apps like Samsung or the IPad, but honestly don't think those can do much more than this phone. I even like the cases that are available for it.

Now a sticking point for some may be the data that is available for it now. Boost offers 3 standard option for calls, texts, and data. Calls and texts are unlimited on all 3 options far as can tell. 35$ give you 1GB of data. 45$ gets you 5GB of data. 55$ gets you a whopping 10GB of data. Didn't see any other competitors offering 10GB at the time. Appears T Mobile may have joined the party recently. Although 10GB sounds like an awful lot of data, it really isn't. Phone worked almost seamless when I had it, but once your data reaches its limit, Boost drops your speed from 4G to 3G. The phone doesn't work nearly as well at 3G, and videos won't really play at the 2G they get dropped too. I think it's important for new buyers to understand this. I think they should also understand that this phone uses up data in pretty healthy chunks. I went through 10GB in about 2 weeks, and I didn't play one video game or watch any full length movies. Pretty much convinced all data plans are a scam to get you to add more money or buy more cards. I digress though. Boost does have an option for 30$ on auto-pay that gives 2GB, which is what I'm now on. Didn't see a need to buy all that extra time that'll be gone in an instant anyway.

Despite that data issues, I still love this phone.Read more ›

I had this phone for less than a month and its already having a problems. The back button works half the time. I bought this phone until the phone I want is on sale. For the money it's ok but you do get what you pay for!

The phone it self is well made but it stopped working the same day at first when I turned it on it looked fine then it went to a black screen and a red light stayed on I tried everything I could to fix it I factory reset but it still stayed the same in getting it replaced I hope the new one won't make me waste a screen protector

I just went from the LG F3 to this phone (ZTE SPEED). Now let me tell you the F3 was a very good phone but the internal memory was awful, aside from that I did not think I would find A suitable replacement phone in the same price range I paid for the F3 ($39.99 at best buy) Well back at best buy one day and I stumbled upon the ZTE Speed for the same price. I bought the phone out right upon looking at all the features it has, it has everything the F3 has and WAY more to offer. I LOVE THIS PHONE! I also was A long time Virgin Mobile customer and was wary of going to a different carrier, I went to Boost Mobile with my same number. Not only does this phone pack A HUGE punch and leaves minimal doubt you made A mistake, I paid $35 a month with Virgin for 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 2.5GB of full speed data per cycle. I bought A better phone (ZTE SPEED) I am still paying $35 A month but Boost gives me unlimited minutes, texts, 2.5GB of full speed data per cycle and for being a new customer they are paying my first month of service FREE. I can go on and on, get this phone. For the price and benefits the ZTE SPEED is an absolute must have!!!

Cant beat the price. Fast responsive phone. Took 4 days to come in. Was gifted to my mother.

She still doesn't the concept that a touch screen is to touch and not press and hold. She keeps deleting things.And in helping her, found new shortcuts to remove apps permanently without going to uninstall apps screen. Shes happy with pandora and the 30$ plan shes on now.

Good starter phone to get older folks into a newer technology.

I have the HTC 4g evo now for almost 3 years and still works great but was slow. And wanted something faster. I bought this phone until the phone I want is on sale.
