The keys feel fine. The one thing that was going to make this special rather than any other backlit keyboard was the Tux "Super Key" instead of the Windows logo, but that was a bust. Mine came with a Tux outline and no face or character definition to speak of. Also the box listed that at one point it must have been available in other colors, but both Amazon and manufacturer's site only listed blue as available. That's a shame, because I would have picked a few of the other colors before blue. It is also annoying to have to hit the function key to adjust the volume each time (I know I can change this on the OS, but if I use it on another computer I have to do the same thing). The back-light works very well and can be turned on and off manually with a button. The problem is you can't see the keys at all with the back-light turned off. I can usually type without looking, but I have used so many different keyboard layouts over the years (WAVE shaped, Apple, many different laptop styles, etc.) I am not used to this one at all. Besides, if I was not supposed to need to see the keys in order to type, why would I need it to be backlit at all? It does make working in the dark easier when my family is asleep, but like many Open-Source Themed purchases I have tried to make from different companies lately, this seemed to be kind of a bust. That's a shame considering how great the software itself is.

I love this key board, the keys feel nice and make typing easy. The backlit keys are handy, particularly for working in the dark or low illumination (plus they look really cool). The overall look is very sleek and I love having Tux instead of a stupid Windows logo. I always found it dissonant and irritating to have a Windows key on my GNU/Linux machines. Problem solved!
